About this Cook
I am a mother of 4 wonderful children and grandma to 2 adorable boys. I love allrecipes.com because of the reviews. Isn't it great to see how others have done with a recipe before trying it yourself?!? Looking forward to improving my cooking abilities by spending time on this site!
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook are recipes I've never tried before. I love the variety of ideas and the creativity of the submissions on this site. From simple to gourmet--you can find it here.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Fabulously large and waist-expanding Thanksgiving dinners with our family! Also love making Christmas treats to give to family, friends and co-workers.
My cooking triumphs
Seeing the disgust (and smiles) of my grown children as they sat down to Halloween dinner with 'Bloody Baked Rats', 'Eye of Newt', and 'Brain Dip' (all recipes from this site). They said I have too much time on my hands...
My cooking tragedies
I will never forget being a brand new bride (age 19) and trying to cook a wonderful fried chicken dinner for my new husband. He came home from work to find me in tears in the kitchen because I could not figure out how to cut up a whole chicken. We ordered pizza.

Halloween Brain Dip
This was fabulous fun! The red/blue 'fruit-by-the-foot' was perfect to use for the veins. I cut very thin strips and wet them slightly before pushing them into the folds of the cauliflower. For those having issues with the cauliflower falling apart: Simply carve out a small hollow at the stem area and then spoon the dip generously over the top of the 'brain'. Do not dig out a large 'bowl' in the cauliflower or it will fall apart. Guests LOVED this presentation--thanks Annie!

Halloween Bloody Baked Rats
This was so much fun to make and serve! I used limp asparagus spears for the tails and almond slivers for the ears. The cheese did bubble through as it baked, however it simply added to the gore of the dish. Great Halloween fun! Thank you for this recipe Angela!
