About this Cook
I am the mother of 4 children. I am a southern woman that loves to cook and loves to eat. I teach classes at the ymca. I am a people person that loves to entertain.
My favorite things to cook
I love a good appetizer. I decorate cakes on the side. I like the more simple southern style of cooking.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I make squash just like my granny used to make. I also have inherited my moms broccoli casserole recipe that I have to take to all functions with my in-laws.
My cooking triumphs
RIBS. I have mastered the art of a good rib.
My cooking tragedies
My mom used to make an awsome banana pudding that added sour cream to the pudding. I made it for my husband when we were first married. I did'nt realize his utter dislike for sour cream at the time. I found out a few weeks later that his grandmother asked him if I was a good cook. He said I was pretty good, but I make an awful banana pudding.

Milk Chocolate Pecan Pie
I cut the sugar by half and add a few more pecans. Very yummy. It's Thanksgiving Eve and I'm heading to the kitchen right now to bake a couple of them.

Cornbread Salad I
Wow! I love to take different dishes to any event I attend that leave people begging for the recipe. This was no exception. Fortunately all of the vegetables came from my garden which made it all the better. I thought the ranch would be over powering but it was'nt. I'm getting ready to make this again right now.

Six Can Chicken Tortilla Soup
This soup is fantastic. I did cut down on the sodium by using chicken breast and low sodium chicken broth. Also I added about a half of a package of low sodium taco seasoning. I served it with cheese, crushed tortilla chips and sour cream. My family and neighbors loved this.
