My favorite family cooking traditions
I learned to bake from my Mother-in-Law. My husband is Swiss so his whole side cooks so different that my Family. My MIL bakes a lot and uses herbs and such to season things...she cooks really healthy. My mom, however, doesn't bake but she's a great cook. She uses tons of garlic and salt, etc. She cooks a lot of international foods.
My cooking triumphs
I'm in my second year of marriage so i'm still building my kitchen (all the seasoning, etc) as well as my recipes, which is why I LOVE this site! My major accomplishment has been making Zopf, a Swiss braided bread. I make it SO much. It's great!

Lemon Blueberry Drop Scones
I loved this...yes they aren't typical dense/dry scones, however, they are still amazing! They are just different...I love the idea of dropping them instead of shaping them out and that whole process. I'm a huge scone baker and have tons of recipes. This one I will definitely make again! (we used chopped fresh strawberries instead of blueberries...the lemon flavor was GREAT!)

Bacon Asparagus Pizza
My husband loved this, but I guess i'm not a fan of goat cheese. It kinda threw me off. I also used canned asparagus b/c fresh was SO expensive...it wasn't the best idea. Over all, it was pretty expensive to make (asparagus, goat cheese, crust, etc.)

Banana Bran Muffins
I've made this twice and both times was AMAZING!! I did top them with a lot of honey and cinnamon before baking and the second time I subsituted half a cup of flour with half a cup of oatmeal. To do this, just throw the oatmeal in your blender and within a minute or so it turns to powder...it's great!
