About this Cook
I am living in Jingzhou, China working with my husband. I teach English to college students and in my spare time I cook. There aren't a lot of other things to do in this little town in China. So I try to find as many ways a possible to create great dishes without the modern conveniences that the United States has to offer.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook soups! I love to find new soups recipes and try them out!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother was the kind of cook that rotated the few dishes she knew how to cook throughout the month. So I just enjoyed the many, many spaghetti nights, taco nights, fried rice nights and breakfast nights. I have tried to create a better selection for my husband and I.
My cooking triumphs
My soups. Mocha cheesecakes and Cinnamon Rolls.
My cooking tragedies
Bagels. I tried to make them one time and they turned out to be horrible. Maybe try again some day.

Garden Pasta Salad
I'm only giving this a 4 star because there was too much dressing. The second time I made it I made a few changes: first, I used only one bottle of dressing; second, I added a small can of sliced black olives and some mini pepperoni.

Chocolate Crinkles II
I just made these and they were DELISH!!! I added 1 tsp. peppermint extract due to another person's review and WOW!!! I will definitely make these again with and without the peppermint.

Basic Baked Spaghetti
This was a great start for Baked Spaghetti. I used this recipe and modified it for the ingredients I had on hand and to my liking. First, I used a 26 oz. can spaghetti sauce because I didin't have a 16 oz. can. Second, I added onion powder (my husband doesn't like onions) and garlic powder to the sauce to a little extra flavor. Third, I added an extra 1 1/2 c. mozzarella cheese plus the 1 c. cheddar because we are big cheese eaters. Thanks for the recipe!
