Slow Cooker Swiss Steak

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2009
Awesome! The only thing I did different was I had no celery so I didn't put that in and I added a little tomato paste to made the gravy thicker. It was excellent and I will make this again.

Slow Cooker Italian Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2009
Excellent!!!! I sauteed onions and mushrooms and added peppercinis and swiss cheese to our sandwiches on toasted sub buns. We strained the extra juice intoa pan and added beef boullion for french dip sandwiches.

Orange Pork Stir Fry

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2010
Really different. I loved it! I used pork loin instead of tenderloin, cut it in paper thin strips, and used ground ginger instead of fresh. I also used the juice of one orange and a splash of bottled juice and doubled the recipe for the sauce. Served with brown rice.

Autumn Glazed Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2009
This was surprisingly good. I omitted the cranberry, used fresh nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, 2 Cups of apple cider, a little OJ and a little sweet vermouth. I had some onions left over from another meal that were sauteed with cider vinegar so I added those as well. I browned the chops then poured the sauce in the pan and braised for 1-1/2 hours. Very tender with a light apple flavor. Served over rice.

Pork Steaks

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2013
I also dredged in flour and used sweet onions instead of green onion. Family said they were good! One word of advice, I cooked this in a calphalon pan on med high and the soy/butter mixture really carmalized the onion and garlic to the point I thought my pan was ruined (it came out with a short soaking) so be sure to cook on a lower temp.

Rutabaga Oven Fries

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2013
These are so good! Taste like a cross between a potato, sweet potato, and a carrot. We used kosher salt, pepper, and garlic powder. When they were done we sprinkled paprika. I would suggest flipping them a few times since ours burnt a little on the bottom.

I used half and half instead of milk and a mixture of sharp cheddar, pizza cheese blend, and 2 slices of American cheese. The breadcrumbs were panko. Super rich but so good!

Bratwurst Stew

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2009
Two cans of chicken broth was not enough, more like 4 cans. Also, I had to bring it back up to a boil for the cabbage to cook. I used fresh basil, and went heavy on the other spices and added black pepper. Other than that, this was very good. Like a boiled dinner without the potatoes.

really good. I made it with chicken and bowtie pasta, but I think it would be better with linguine or fettucine.

Sirloin Marinara

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2009
I used Mid's Pasta Sauce, added fresh mushrooms, fresh oregano, basil, and parsley. I also used about a cup of merlot. The meat was very tender. A new twist on my old spaghetti sauce. Served with pasta instead of garlic mashed. Very good!

Zucchini Herb Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2008
My family loved this recipe. I used canned tomatoes instead of fresh with Italian seasonings, and I only had enough cheddar for the inside of the casserole so I used mozzarella on top and it was wonderful. Also I used 1/2 cup rice and fresh herbs. I will definetly make this again.
