About this Cook
I am a 55yr old mother of 3 boys. My father and grandmothers taught me how to cook when I was very young. There have been several times throughout the last 40 years that I have had to scrimp and scratch to put food on our table. Cooking from just what I had in the kitchen became a specialty of mine.(and making it taste good! lol) I love to cook from scratch on occasion but mostly I use convenience forms of food now, such as buying bread dough instead of making it myself.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook anything to do with shrimp, chicken or ground beef. I seem to put onion and garlic in most everything I cook. I am one of the few I know that actually loves the smell of garlic. I also have times when I love to cook sweets but I avoid those now since becoming diabetic.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My father was a cook in the Navy and I learned a lot from him, my grandmothers and my mothers-in-law. My oldest son has been cooking at jobs since 2000. All three boys were brought up in the kitchen and like to cook.
My cooking triumphs
My cooking triumphs are when I pull out all the stops on holidays and birthdays. The boys always want my lasagna for their birthday dinner, although my oldest did want liver & onions for his this year.
My cooking tragedies
One of the first times I made lasagna as an adult I way overdid the garlic.. It was so strong it was hot to the taste. Trust me I double check my garlic from then on!

Donna's 123 Sausage Balls
This the same recipe my Aunt uses when she makes them. You can add more cheese too, if you like. She did once and they turned out fine. As the other person said let the sausage and cheese set for awhile out of the refrigerator and they won't be dry. My Aunt always said that when your kneading the ingredients, you know your done when it looks like a "brain" sitting in your bowl!
