My cooking triumphs
My most interesting meal was probably as a student studying abroad in Sweden... and I (along with my other American friend/roommate) prepared a traditional Thanksgiving dinner for some of our Swedish & German friends. It went over very well, once I figured out the Swedish word for "turkey" (my first attempt to buy one, ended in the purchase of a duck!) We had to substitute Sweet Potato Pie for the traditional Pumpkin - because we couldn't find any pumpkin - but all together, it was one of the most memorable Thanksgiving's I've ever had.
My cooking tragedies
My resiliency in the kitchen is likely due to botched recipes that I have to re-purpose or recreate. Can't think of anything too devastating... but I've certainly had my share of flops. :)

Ranch Dressing II
Pretty close match to the most popular brand of dressing mix. After making it a few times, I decided to tweak it a bit. I prefer more sour cream flavor & wanted to lighten it up. So I make mine with either light sour cream/plain greek yogurt & lowfat buttermilk (if I want a dressing) with just a spoonful of mayo. Yum, yum! Tastes best if it has a few hours or overnight to sit in the fridge before using...

Coconut Macaroons III
Excellent recipe! These were a big hit with the friends I shared with on Valentine's Day... Chewy and delicious. I almost always use parchment paper when baking, and these popped right off. No mess clean-up! Thanks for sharing such a great recipe... this one's definitely a keeper! :)

Maple-Garlic Marinated Pork Tenderloin
Fantastic! Hubby loved it. I was dubious of the marinade combo - but it turned out delicious... Easy breezy recipe for the "keepers" file. :)
