Gina's Lemon Pepper Chicken

Reviewed: May 3, 2008
This is a very tasty recipe. It was very simple to make as it took me less than 5 minutes to prepare it. This is a great recipe to make especially if you're short on time to prepare a meal. I put all of the ingredients in a bowl and mixed them up before adding it on both sides of the chicken. Of note, the proportion for each of the ingredients - lemon pepper, garlic powder and onion powder - had to be increased to make sure the chicken was well coated. Further, to ensure the chicken was properly cooked, I put it in the oven for 40 minutes at 400 degrees. Safe to say, this was a very tasty dish and as mentioned, it was very easy to make. I will definitely make this recipe again.

Chicken Breasts in Caper Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2008
This is a very tasty dish and very simple to make. I followed the proportion for each ingredient as directed with the exception of the lemon pepper, which I added a tiny bit more of. Safe to say, it turned out great. Of note, the cream sauce came out darker than shown on the photo. I also cooked the coated chicken breasts in the oven for about 20 minutes at 275 degrees to make sure the inside was well cooked. I then browned the chicken in the skillet as directed and afterwards, I prepared the caper cream sauce, with heavy cream sauce rather than whipping cream, in the same skillet. The sauce was a bit salty, most likely because of the capers, yet, it turned out tasty. I will definitely make this tasty chicken recipe again.

Mushroom Onion Rice

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2008
This is a good rice recipe and is very easy and simple to make. It's an excellent rice dish for a bbq. May I make two suggestions for this recipe: 1. cut by half the amount of water and 2. add finely chopped green onion. I will definitely make this recipe for another bbq down the road.

Chicken Angelo

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2008
Excellent, tasty chicken dish! This recipe is so easy and simple to make. The proportion for each ingredient in this recipe is perfect. The cream of chicken soup and Muenster cheese go very well with each other. May I suggest the addition of canned, sliced mushrooms and thinly sliced green onion on top of the Muenster cheese before adding the cream of chicken soup in order to add more taste and color to this wonderful dish. However, the recipe is excellent as it is. I will definitely make this excellent chicken recipe again.

Dutch Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2008
Excellent, very tasty potato recipe; definitely one of the best on this website. The sautéed onion (white onion) adds lots of taste to this wonderful potato recipe. I used baby carrots for this recipe, which made it quite easy to mash along with the potatoes. Since I like crumbled bacon, I will sauté it with the onion next time I make this dish. I will definitely make this tasty potato dish again.

Sage Pork Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2008
Excellent recipe and very easy to follow. The combination of the sage and black pepper is very good and tasty. Instead of center cut bone-in pork chops, I used 1 inch thick pork tenderloin instead; I also used chicken bovril rather than beef bouillon. It took me about 45 minutes at the very most - rather than 1 hour - to cook properly the pork tenderloin. Safe to say, I will definitely make this pork dish again.

Peppered Flank Steak

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2008
This is a very good recipe. I followed the proportions of the steak marinade as instructed and it turned out very tasty. It had an excellent 'peppery' bite to it. If you like your marinade a bit spicy, may I suggest the addition of a small amount of hot chili powder to the mix to intensify the 'peppery' taste of the marinade. That being said, the marinade is fine as it is. Since I like my steak medium to well done, I broiled each side of the steak for 5 minutes each before broiling the first side once again for an additional 3 minutes. I will definitely make this recipe again.

Flank Steak with Horseradish Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2008
Excellent! Very tasty dish! One of the best steak recipes on allrecipes.com. The dijon / Worcestershire / garlic marinade is superb and so is the horseradish sauce! I doubled the amount of horseradish and the horseradish sauce turned out great. However, there was tons of horseradish sauce left and consequently, I would cut by half the suggested proportions. Nevertheless, this is an excellent steak recipe; I will definitely make it again!

Asiago Sun-Dried Tomato Pasta

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2008
WOW! Exceptional taste and colorful look to this stunning dish. This is by far the best pasta dish I've ever tasted! The proportion for each ingredient is perfect with the exception of the Asiago cheese: I doubled the amount of this exceptional Italian cheese; I strongly recommend the additional amount. Safe to say, the Asiago cheese mixture turned out fabulous. The bacon / onion mixture is absolutely phenomenal! I used crumbled bacon instead of bacon cooked in a skillet and I used rotini pasta instead of bow-tie pasta. May I suggest the addition of red pepper cut in julienne style in the Asiago cheese mixture along with finely chopped fresh mushrooms in the bacon / onion mixture. Whoever created this phenomenal pasta recipe is an absolute genius and deserves one heck of a trophy! I will definitely make this exceptional pasta dish again, especially for dinner parties.

Marinated Flank Steak

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2008
What a wonderful, tasty steak recipe! The marinade is one of the best on this website. I kept the marinated steak in the refrigerator for about 8 hours instead of 6 hours. Since I was using 1 inch thick steak tenderloin, I grilled the steak in the oven for 7 - 8 minutes on each side and it turned out medium to well done and did I say it was VERY tasty? Hats off to the author of the steak marinade.

Mashed Potatoes with Fried Mushroom, Bacon, and Onion

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2008
Excellent and very tasty potato recipe! I love the combination of fried onion, mushroom and bacon. I used crumbled bacon instead and fried it with the red onion and mushroom! Other than that, I followed the instructions and added the right amounts for each ingredient and it turned out great! I accompanied this tasty potato dish with Cajun deviled eggs, steamed broccoli covered with a three-cheese sauce and garlic-pepper tenderloin steak. It’s unfortunate the steak was too spicy for my girlfriend; otherwise, it was a great combination especially since we were drinking a great bottle of Malbec (Pascual Toso) from Argentina. Delicious! I will definitely make this great potato recipe again!

Red, Juicy, Herb-Fried Tomatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2008
This is a tasty dish. This is my second time preparing this tasty dish. In my first review, I suggested to reduce the amount of basil and thyme by half. Instead of white pepper, I used black pepper. I used cherry tomatoes instead of plum or Roma tomatoes and I dipped them in the basil and thyme mixture before frying them in a wok in olive oil. It turned out great! I accompanied this pleasant side-dish with Dijon mashed potatoes, pork in mushroom Dijon sauce and Cajun deviled eggs, which contain lots of Dijon. Great combination! Great meal!

Apricot Glazed Carrots

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2008
This is a very tasty dish! After draining the carrots, I added all of the ingredients in the pot with the carrots in it. Instead of orange zest, I added orange peel and it turned out great. To keep the baby carrots warm, I put the pot on low to medium heat. I will make this dish again.

Cowboy Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2008
This is a very delicious, colorful potato recipe! I made a couple of very minor alterations: 1. since I didn't have red potatoes, I just went with yellow potatoes and 2. I went with kernel corn from a can rather than frozen corn. Besides that, I followed the recipe as instructed and it turned out great. The next time I make this recipe, I may add crumbled bacon and extra jalapeno to make it spicier.

London Broil II

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2008
Excellent! This is one of the best steak recipes I've had in a while! The ketchup mixture is very tasty. Since my bbq is covered with 2 feet of snow, I broiled the steak in the oven for about 5 minutes on each side and it turned out great. I will definitely follow this recipe again.

Pleasant Pork Chops

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2008
Excellent! This is definitely one of the best tasting pork recipes I've prepared so far. Instead of pork chops, I used pork tenderloin sliced one inch in thickness. To make sure the pork was well cooked, I put it in the oven at 400 degrees for 30 minutes rather than browning it in a skillet. Following this cooking procedure took far less time than browning the pork in a skillet and reducing the 'sauciness' of the onion-garlic mixture in an hour as indicated in the instructions. After the pork tenderloin was properly cooked in the oven, I poured the garlic-onion-sour cream mixture on top of the cooked pork tenderloin. The garlic-onion-sour cream mixture turned out very tasty! Next time , I may add finely chopped mushrooms to the garlic-onion mixture. I will definitely make this delicious pork recipe again. One final note: I was trying to prepare this meal for some time but wasn't able to. The old motto 'good things come to those who wait' fits this recipe! It's a definite winner, which, as mentioned, will definitely be prepared again by yours truly.

Amy's Spicy Beans and Rice

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2008
This is a very good recipe! I followed the instructions as indicated with the exception of the black olives since I didn't have any. I replaced them with green olives. For those like me who like their food hot and spicy, this hits the spot. However, for those who like their food a bit milder tasting, I would suggest to skip the chili pepper in the black bean mixture. Next time, instead of using brown rice, I'll be using par-broiled rice. For some reason, brown rice doesn't appeal to my palate. Besides that, this recipe is quite good and I will definitely make it again.

Cajun Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2008
Excellent! This is a very tasty, creamy dish! Since I had super-sized / jumbo chicken breasts, I cooked them in the oven at 400 degrees for 40 minutes instead of browning them and running the risk of having them half-cooked in a skillet. Afterwards, I cut them up in strips 1/2 inch in thickness before putting in the skillet along with the rest of the ingredients. Instead of linguine, I had fettucini. Other than that, I followed the recipe as indicated and it turned out absolutely great. I will definitely make this dish again, no doubt about it. Congratulations to the creator of this recipe!

Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2008
This is a very tasty potato dish. The idea of cooking the garlic in the oven is an excellent idea since it add tons of flavor to the mashed potatoes. I followed the recipe as indicated with the exception that I didn't add salt or pepper and it turned out very good. The idea of adding Parmesan cheese to the mashed potatoes is a very good one! I will definitely make this dish again.

Brandy Flamed Peppercorn Steak

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2008
Wow! What an exceptional steak recipe! Definitely one of the best steak recipes on allrecipes.com. The red wine / garlic sauce is absolutely stunning. I skipped the salt, sugar and shallots and added extra wine to make the sauce stronger in taste and added also extra brandy simply for maximum effect. Although the black peppercorn is an excellent ingredient, may I suggest capers as a possible replacement for those who don't like their steak too spicy. Safe to say, I will definitely make this stunning recipe again. Congratulations to the creator of this tasty dish!
