Flank Steak with Garlic Wine Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2009
Great steak recipe! Very tasty! I used minced garlic rather than using head garlic and it turned out very well. I accompanied this dish with scalloped potatoes in a broccoli and cheese sauce along with a stir fry of green peppers and red onions with Asiago-toasted cheese puffs as an appetizer. Great combination! Great steak dish!

Anniversary Chicken I

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2009
Wow! One of the best chicken recipes on this site! This dish is a real stunner! Who would have thought that adding Ranch dressing on top of teriyaki would taste so great on chicken? But it did! The combination of crumbled chicken, cheddar and green onions is great! I served this tasty dish with curried orange chicken, red rice and a stir fry of peppers along with a nice bottle of Chardonnay! Great combination, great chicken dish!

Southwestern Rice

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2009
Great tasting rice! The combination of ingredients is fantastic including the cumin, turmeric, which added the lovely yellow color to the rice, and the black beans! I served it with the anniversary chicken and honey glazed carrots along with a bottle of Chardonnay. Great combination, great meal, great rice recipe!

Oven Fried Chicken III

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2009
This is an excellent chicken dish. I added extra thyme and paprika and it turned out great. Instead of cutting up chicken in pieces, I simply used chicken breasts. Since I like my food spicy, may I suggest that we add 1/2 teaspoon of either cayenne or chili to the mix but this spice mixture is perfect as it is. I served this great dish with 'Mexican rice II' and a side-dish of yellow, orange and red peppers in an Asian sauce and as recommended, a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. What a great combination!

Mexican Rice II

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2009
Excellent rice dish! I followed the instructions and it came out delicious! I did add a bit more cumin than instructed since I love the taste of it. I served this dish with the 'oven fried chicken III', a side-dish of yellow, orange and red peppers marinated in an Asian sauce and with a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc as suggested! It turned out to be a great meal.

Pork with Mushroom Dijon Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2009
This is a stunning, very tasty, restaurant quality pork recipe! Truly a 5 star rating! I added a bit more Dijon mustard and it turned out great! My girlfriend was raving about this dish and so was I! The mushroom Dijon sauce is unbelievable and it suits perfectly pork tenderloin. I accompanied this dish with Dijon mashed potatoes and Cajun deviled eggs, also with Dijon as an ingredient, as an appetizer, along with the juicy tomatoes fried in basil and thyme! DELICIOUS!! I will definitely make this dish again!

Deluxe Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2009
Great potato recipe! Adding paprika and cooking the mashed potatoes in the oven added more flavor, if that was possible, to this delicious potato recipe. Adding green onions or bacon bits might add more flavor but the ingredients for this dish are fine as they are.

Honey Ginger Carrots

Great side-dish recipe for carrots! The taste of honey with ginger and lemon is great to the point I've done this dish a few times now in the past couple of months! Yummy stuff for sure! Cheers!

Maria's Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2009
Stunning steak recipe. Very tasty! I never thought soy sauce, honey and red wine vinegar would make such a great combination!! I followed the instructions as suggested by Maria and it turned out perfect! If you want to make it spicy, as I like it, adding yellow banana peppers might do the trick but this recipe is fine as it is! I ate this wonderful dish with the 'deluxe mashed potatoes' recipe along with 'honey ginger carrots' and it turned to be a great meal. Of course, adding a bottle of Perez Cruz Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile made the meal even more delicious! Cudos to Maria for submitted this recipe!

Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2009
Excellent tasty chicken! I followed the instructions and the chicken turned out fantastic. I added one teaspoon of granulated garlic to make it more 'garlicky'! As a side dish, I made garlic rice along with stir-fried red peppers and red onions in a black bean and garlic sauce! Wow! Great dish!

Spanish Rice I

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2009
Great tasting rice! I followed the instructions regarding the amounts for each ingredient and it turned out perfectly! Rather than using instant rice, which I didn't have, I used par-broiled rice and instead of tomato juice, I used spicy clamato juice, which was a great substitute. May I suggest, as optional ingredients, thyme (1/2 teaspoon for a serving of 4) and a couple of hot green peppers from Turkey for an extra kick to the taste. Not that it needed it but still, for lovers of spicy dishes, those two ingredients could add some zip to this wonderful dish!

Pork Tenderloin with Mustard Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2009
WOW!! Yummy!! Rather than putting the pork tenderloin uncut in the oven, I cut it up about 3/4 of an inch in thickness and poured the marinade over the pork tenderloin medallions. The mustard sauce is stunning! I added an extra 1/2 teaspoon of mustard powder for an extra kick in the flavor and it turned out great. I served it with the 'Spanish rice I' recipe and it turned out to be a great combination. Of course, have a nice bottle of Chardonnay made the meal even more enjoyable! Great pic by Roxie of the pork tenderloin!

Chinese Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2009
Excellent pork recipe! Very tasty! The combination of soya sauce, hoisin sauce, Chinese 5-spice, etc. is excellent and very tasty! May I suggest that you serve this excellent dish with rice (lemon-spiced) and a side-dish of stir-fried veggies (e.g. green and red peppers and red onions in an Asian sauce). An absolute winner! I will definitely make this tasty pork dish again!

Honey Mustard Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2008
This is a very tasty chicken recipe. I followed the proportion for each ingredient as instructed and the honey mustard marinade turned out great. However, instead of grilling the chicken on the BBQ, I cooked the chicken in the oven for 40 minutes at 400 degrees in a 9' by 13' pan. Safe to say, the chicken turned out great. I will definitely make this recipe again.

Gravy Baked Pork Chops

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2008
I've cooked a pork dish very similar to this one before but without the water and the milk...just the cream of mushroom soup! I should have followed my original recipe as the recipe that includes the water and milk simply diluted the cream of mushroom soup. My original recipe calls for pork tenderloin cut in 1 - 2 inch cubes; browning them in a skillet for about 15 minutes before adding the cream of mushroom soup and a dash of black pepper. No offense to the author of this dish but I will not make this dish again with water and milk.

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2008
This was an excellent, tasty and indeed spicy chicken dish! The proportion or amount of each ingredient was perfect. However, I will add more of each ingredient - other than the chicken and oil - to make more sauce, which I must say, was similar in taste to teriyaki. Although I liked the idea of cutting the chicken in strips, I will keep the chicken breast in tact and cook it in the oven for about 30 minutes before putting in a skillet to brown it and then adding the sauce mixture on top of the chicken. I will definitely make this Chinese-tasting chicken dish again.

Sherry Sour Cream Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2008
This is an excellent and very tasty chicken dish. The sour cream / sherry mixture is very good; in fact, I doubled the amount of sherry for maximum effect! The proportion of rosemary and thyme is perfect as I sprinkled both spices generously on the chicken breasts before adding the sour cream / sherry mixture on top of them, as instructed. I will definitely make this wonderful dish again and will add either chopped up green onions, garlic or chives based on the great suggestions made on this site. I will try the sherry / sour cream mixture on pork tenderloin as I'm positive it will be a hit in the same way it is with chicken.

Lemon Fried Rice

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2008
Very good rice recipe as a result of modifying it. I added 2 tablespoons of lemon juice along with a 1/2 teaspoon of lemon pepper to add flavor (for 4 servings). I strongly recommend that the lemon pepper and lemon juice be added to this recipe; if not, it will be bland.

Greek Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2008
Very tasty chicken recipe! I used feta cheese instead of the blue cheese. Further, the 'stuffing' was excellent; I added bacon chunks from Costco as part of the 'stuffing' and it turned out great. Since nothing was mentioned about coating the chicken, I added garlic seasoning on top of it prior to putting it in the oven. I put the chicken in the oven covered at 400 degrees for 30 minutes before taking off the aluminum foil cover and cooking the chicken for an additional 15 minutes. As this recipe is called Greek Chicken, I used white wine from Greece (Kouros) as part of the onion / garlic mixture instead of the chicken broth. The juices from the mixture did not run clear at the end of the cooking; so, I added the onion / garlic mixture on top of the chicken before serving it. Safe to say, I will definitely make this delicious recipe again!

Lemon Mushroom Herb Chicken

Reviewed: May 24, 2008
5 stars? Heck, make that 5000 stars for this most fascinating and mouth-watering recipe!! I have had my share of wonderful chicken recipes but this recipe definitely takes the cake; it is definitely on the top of my list! Fine dining / restaurant quality for sure! There is nothing to change about this most exceptional recipe other than the fact that I added lemon pepper to the chicken broth mixture as suggested in some of the reviews. I also added extra flour coating on the chicken breasts as it was cooking in the skillet to increase the 'thickness' of the coating and it turned out great. May I suggest the addition of chopped fresh mushrooms to the chicken broth mixture. But again, it's only a suggestion since the recipe is perfectly fine as it is. Cudos to the creator of this stunning recipe! Safe to say, I will definitely make this dish again but this time, it will be for friends and family.
