Broccoli and Stilton Soup

I love that there is no cream in this recipe! It tasted great, practically licked the bowl clean. We did add more cheese but only because we love cheese!

Raspberry Streusel Muffins

These were great. I followed the advice of most of the reviewers and added about 1/4 cup more milk. I also double the berries to a full two cups. I like my muffins to be big chunks of fruit barely held together by a little muffin. That's how these turned out. Perfect.

Roasted Chicken Noodle Soup

I made a few changes. I used home made stock and didn't add any celery. I also did not add the milk at the end because I wanted it to be more like a soup and less like a stew. The end result had a great taste -- but I didn't think there was enough broth, it still seemed too thick. I ended up adding more and more stock until I had a true soup consistency.

Beef Stew VI

Not for us. Followed the recipe as written and found it bland. There wasn't enough depth of flavor. I also think the potatoes need to be added later. It takes longer to cook carrots than potatoes so they shouldn't be added at the same time. It also never really thickened up. I suppose I could add more cornstarch but as written, this wasn't our favorite.

Baked Potato Soup

Wonderful! I didn't have time to bake the potatoes beforehand so I cooked them in the chicken stock while I cooked the bacon and then the garlic and onion. I also added carrots for a little bit of color. By the time the the broth was to be added the carrots and potatoes were ready and they all went in together. The only thing I might do differently next time would be to decrease the salt. I used my own homemade chicken stock and it is salty enough. I will be making this again!

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

I made this for a 4th of July party. It went almost uneaten. That is unfortunate because it actually tasted great. The cinnamon chips went really well with the fruit. I can't give it more stars because of the presentation. The juice from the strawberries and raspberries colored the kiwi and the apples. The kiwis then turned an unappetizing brown and the apples turned an unrecognizable pink. The next day I did sit down with the bowl of fruit and the chips and finished them off. Taste = great. Presentation = not so much!

Guacamole

Meh -- this was just okay. I will give it 3 stars because the recipe provides a nice base for you to play with. I had to add so much more garlic, cayenne pepper and I even added extra peppers just to get a little heat. I did like the fresh cilantro because it added a fresh taste. However, on its own, this recipe is just too bland to deserve more stars.
