Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2013
I took others advice and also used Golden Mushroom and more wine. Also cut down the baking time. Turned out VERY TASTY! Getting this nice and browned first is key! Will make this again and again!

Rosenmunnar

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2012
I love these cookies!!! I used to buy the cheap version of these at the store, had no idea how easy they would be to make. These will become a staple in my cookie repertoire. I did like others suggested and added 1 tsp of vanilla...either way, great, easy cookie.

Asian Inspired Grilled Asparagus

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2012
I really enjoyed this recipe, although was a little salty the first time I made it. Cut back the soy just a little after that. I do everything like instructed, and have even sprinkled with sesame seeds and do a quick seer to warm when it comes time to serve. Get's all kinds of people to eat something they didn't think they liked! Thanks for sharing.

Creamy Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2012
This is a very good chocolate frosting recipe (probably become my go-to chocolate frosting when I can't use a cream cheese frosting). Used this as an 'outer ring' of frosting on German Chocolate Cupcakes, paired with the pecan/coconut frosting, it was wonderful! I found the consistency perfect, even perhaps a little stiff to pipe. No adjustments necessary here.

Peanut Butter Cupcakes

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2012
I exactly halved this recipe (to yield only 12) but other than that followed the recipe exactly. These cupcakes were very moist and flavorful (plenty of peanut butter flavor!). For those complaining that they weren't very flavorful, perhaps you were using cheap peanut butter? I used Jif and they were great! Definitely will make again.

Lemon Cupcake with Blackberry Buttercream

Reviewed: May 14, 2012
I followed the recipes exactly and found that I needed to add an additional 2 tbs lemon juice to get a nice lemony flavor from the cake... However dense, my cupcakes rose well and had good consistency. As for the frosting, I halved it as others suggested, yet added between 1/2 - 3/4 c. blackberry jam to get a true blackberry-ish flavor. It is also a VERY sweet frosting, but was told that the balance between the cake and the frosting was really good.

This is a really good fish recipe. Flavors don't overpower but compliments. This is certainly one I've made many times :)

Slow-Cooker Corned Beef and Cabbage

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2012
I wish you could rate 1/2 a star because this would have been a 4 1/2 star for me. This was super good (and easy) made just as the recipe states except the ONLY thing I did different was (as others said and because my crock pot seems to cook high) to cook it on low for 8 hours instead of high. Made this for the first time for St. Patrick's Day and a houseful of company...actually had two crock pots going... had some veggies left, but that was it! This will be my go-to Corn Beef and Cabbage recipe from now on.

Cheese Dipping Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2012
After reading the reviews, i was worried that this might turn out gritty... I did not find my sauce gritty at all. Made sure that my butter/flour was whisked smooth before adding the milk and cheese. Found a little thick so added a bit more milk. Great over broccoli.

Peach Cobbler for Two

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2012
I love this recipe and the amount it makes! Super easy, not a lot of mess, and not going to be eating dessert for a week :)... I usually add a dash of cinnamon to the peach mixture and omit the orange peel from the topping simply because I never have any and it is still really good!

Cream Cheese Jalapeno Hamburgers

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2012
Just as the recipe is written, I found the burger itself lacking some seasoning, however that is how my boyfriend makes his all the time... The one thing to note is to ALWAYS use fresh beef as frozen will always fall apart for stuffed burgers. I also made my patties bigger as I only got 4 burger patties per lb instead of 8... Will make again, just will add some seasoning to the ground beef next time.

Pleasant Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2011
Pork chops is never my 'go to' meat for a meal, but feel obligated to make it once in awhile...when i do i'm always in search of something interesting to do with it...hence stumbled upon this recipe. I read the reviews, modified the recipe for 2 chops, added 1/2 chicken broth 1/2 white wine (doubled for more sauce) and found the only paprika i had was smoked...still good and added to my will make again list. Wish there was an option for 1/2 star - I would rate this about a 3.5.

Strawberry Cake from Scratch

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2011
This cake has a great flavor, but i have had issues with this cake being heavy and not rising properly...perhaps i'm overmixing where as others don't mix long enough??? I made this into cupcakes for my grandson's birthday party and even though they didn't rise well, topped them with Whipped Cream Cream Cheese frosting also from this site and they went like hot cakes...

Whipped Cream Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2011
I've made this frosting several times and love it each and every time. I follow the recipe as is, and have even substituted almond extract for the vanilla (cutting it from 1 tsp to 1/2 tsp). Recently I frosted nearly 70 cupcakes with this for my Grandson's first birthday and got rave reviews all the way around! Made three batches, adding food coloring to two - worked GREAT! Have to say that my Kitchenaide mixer made whipping the whipping cream nice and stiff which made the frosting easier to pipe with the star tip.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2011
Very good, simple recipe (and only required ingredients I usually have on hand and not terribly labor intensive). They were a little 'cakey', but I tend to like my brownies this way, so no worries. The frosting was thick so I added just a splash of milk - will make again and again. Serve warm with milk :)

Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2011
I've made this recipe several times and loved it each and every time (even cut it in half). As I do with every frosting recipe is always taste as I add the sugar because I often find Frostings too sweet for my liking (so I did not end up adding the full 4 cups). I've also used the evaporated milk as the recipe calls for, half and half and just plain milk...good each and every time :). Easy to pipe onto cupcakes as well - Thanks for sharing!

Shanghai Noodle Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2011
I really loved this recipe but made a few adjustments so didn't feel i could give it a 5... I used spaghetti noodles and used lemon instead of lime juice. I also added some chili oil as we like things with a little kick. Also didn't add the Kosher salt, just used a dash of regular salt. Added some grilled teriyaki chicken and made it a meal in one. I was pleasantly surprised when EVERYONE loved it :)

Grilled Salmon I

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2011
I've made this salmon twice, never altering the recipe and both times it was FANTASTIC! I did follow the recommendation of another reviewer and grilled it fleshside down first (skin up) and this creates a nice carmalization of the marinade. When done the meat slid right off the skin. The first time I made this, I only marinated it for the minimum of two hours, and it was really good. The second time I marinated the salmon all day and it was even better! A must add to the salmon recipes!

German Chocolate Cake III

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2011
My daughter requested german chocolate cupcakes for her birthday and I found this recipe. I halved it (which makes 12 large cupcakes or 48 mini-cupcakes) but followed everything else exactly. I was surprised that any of the batter found its way into the cupcake pan - best cake batter ever :)... However everyone LOVED the cupcakes, even made someone who claimed they didn't like german chocolate cake ask for them for HIS birthday! Best cake recipe I've found so far :) thanks for sharing. (for the mini-cupcakes i bake them for 18 min @ 350)

Crumb-Coated Chicken Thighs

Reviewed: May 22, 2011
I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked this recipe...reminded me of a much better, homemade version of shake and bake. I lined my baking pan with aluminum foil to aid the cleanup process, worked beautifully. One could easily play with the herbs and spices in this mixture to appease any taste. Will certainly make again - thanks for sharing :)
