Quick Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2012
Very good base recipe for this sauce. I usually make a shrimp and noodle dish with seasoning that mimics shrimp scampi. This time I thickened it up by using this sauce recipe. Butter/flour/garlic salt/half+half and some shred Italian blend cheese. Added pepper and Table Blend Mrs Dash and it was amazing!

Marie's Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2008
I used this as a starting point to learning how to make a great roast. The first time I followed the recipe. The 2nd time I tweaked it after reading the reviews. NOW, I have created a masterpiece. This is how I do it:Make sure you use a Chuck roast first of all. Then, brown the meat with salt, pepper, garlic/onion as desired. Then, place in slow cooker. Deglaze the pan with a little beef broth and then add it and addtional can to slow cooker (total 2 cans of beef broth). Pour 1 envelope of dry onion soup mix on top, and 1 tBLsp of Worceshire sauce on top of the meat. Cook on low for 8hrs. After 6 hrs. add quartered red potatoes and carrots to the slow cooker. When done it will be falling apart so remove from slow cooker carefully. Make gravy by using broth and flour/cornstarch/water mixture and heating to just boiling in separate saucepan stirring constantly till desired thickness is acheived. Yum!

Slow Cooker Macaroni and Cheese I

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2007
This recipe is SOOOOO easy! However, I should have read more of the previous reviews. As many have stated, it came out custard-like similar to a quiche. I did follow the recipe, did not stir it, and cooked it for about 4 1/2 hrs on low. I think the next time I make it I will "tweak" it by deleting the eggs, and adding some additonal spices. It was bland and my children didn't care for it. If it turns out okay I will repost with the modifications I made.

Chili II

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2007
I gave this 4 stars since I tweaked it some and it wasn't the original recipe. We like a thicker chili and not TOO spicy because of the kids. Here's what I did: 1 lb. ground beef 1 can dark kidney beans (undrained) 1 can MANWICH sauce 1 pkg chili seasoning mix Salt; pepper; garlic powder; minced onion Brown the ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and minced onion to taste. Layer kidney beans, ground beef, chili seasoning, and MANWICH sauce in crockpot. Give it a stir to blend all ingredients and set on LOW for about 5 hrs. (Just long enough for flavors to blend and heat through). I served it with Pillsbury Garlic Butter flavor rolls. Even my kids thought it was good and not TOO spicy!!
