Fresh Semolina and Egg Pasta

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2009
I thought it was bland and tasteless, but did go through the machine easily.

Shrimp Linguine Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2008
Edible, the broccoli had no flavor and the raw mushrooms were unappealing. I will not be making this recipes again.

Bob's Stuffed Banana Peppers

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2008
If I could have given 4.5 stars I would have. First, there was twice as much filling as needed. The meat filling was delicious though. The sauce was also very good. I did not boil the peppers because I did not want to lose the flavor--so the peppers ended up being a little tougher than I would have liked. Next time I may try to either steam them a minute or roast them before stuffing.

Mexican Rice III

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2008
This was okay. There was heat but not much flavor. I would suggest more seasonings.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2008
The best lasagna I have ever ate. I think the homemade sauce is what made it so good.

Spinach Lentil Soup

Very good, easy and healthy. I did substitute chicken broth for the water. Will make again.

Premium Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2008
I doubled the recipe and froze three separate bags full of dough. I made one pizza with pizza sauce and it turned out pretty good. I made one a white pizza and that is where the five stars comes in. The dough is chewy and tasy with a bit of crunch on the outside. A definate keeper.

Andrea's Pasta Fagioli

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2008
I thought this was a bit bland. It might have been better if the water was replaced with more tomato sauce and more seasoning. My kids did like the beans-pasta combination though.

Cajun Baked Catfish

Reviewed: May 23, 2008
This recipe was fantastic. Simple, fast, and the blend of seasoning went very well with the catfish. I doubled up the cayenne and the hot sauce, since we like our meals a little spicy. Great recipe!

Louisiana Shrimp and Eggs Gumbo

Reviewed: May 9, 2008
For anyone who has not made a roux before, heat the oil and flour over LOW heat--the recipe does not specify---but you need to be careful with the hot oil and adding water. Mine was a little too hot and almost bubbled over. All warnings aside, this was an excellent meal. The eggs were delicious and used in a way that was new to me. I did substitute broth for the water.

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: May 8, 2008
This dough came out bland. If you are going to bake your pizza on a stone you need to divide the recipe in half. My pizza was way too thick. There are better recipes out there.

Tortillas I

Reviewed: May 2, 2008
This was the first time that I made tortillas and everything worked out wonderfully. They were delicious, definately better than store bought. The only thing that I would change would be to add slightly more salt next time.

Manicotti Alla Romana

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2008
This dish was fairly good. I do feel that something was missing from the filling. I may try this again, but with a little mozzarella and some seasonings in the filling.

Buttery Soft Pretzels

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2008
This is not like a pretzel, but like bread. I boiled the last half of the batch and they came out better with that unique taste of pretzels.

Healing Cabbage Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2008
I prepared this for my family's lunch today and it went over very well with a 3 year old, a 5 year old, me and my husband. I served it with homemade rolls and it made for a filling, delicious and satisfying meal.

Mall Pretzels

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2008
This stuff baked up more like bread than a pretzel. To me a soft pretzel should be chewy, not fluffy.

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2008
Would have given five stars if there had been less oil in the recipe. Cake shouldn't leave an oily residue on a napkin. I will look for a recipe that contains buttermilk or milk and less oil.

Quick Clam Spaghetti

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2008
This was a lot better than I thought it would be. My 5 year old and 3 year old both loved it. My husband said it was okay. The big plus was how quick it was. It would be worth having several cans of clams and packages of spaghetti around for emergency dinners, or a quick lunch. It took less than 10 minutes from start to finish.
