About this Cook
I'm a college sophomore. I love cooking and baking when I'm at home, and after a year of not being able to cook while at school, I decided, this year, to try and change that! Currently, my focus is finding things I can "cook" in a dorm. I have very limited fridge space, a microwave, and that's about it! I'm also a vegetarian/pseudo vegan. Basically, I don't really actively read labels and reject a food if it contains some dairy ingredient, but I don't drink milk, or eat eggs, cheese or yogurt or anything straight up. As far as personal information, I love to try new things! I went skydiving this summer, I love riding my dad's motorcycle, and love a good soy latte. (I was a Tully's barista over the summer, so I've turned into somewhat of a coffe snob--oops!)
My favorite things to cook
I love baking for the holidays! (Who doesn't?) I love biscotti, but I always complain while making it. I love following recipes, but I also love to improvise and make things up.

Restaurant-Quality Maple Oatmeal Scones
These scones are amazing! I made them this evening, as a surprise for my mom (she loves scones, as well as maple, so I figured it would be fitting), and even I was impressed by them (I'm usually very self-critical of my cooking!). I didn't have any dried cherries, so I used cherry-flavored dried cranberries, and I added some pecans, since my mom likes nuts. It was a great addition. Walnuts would have been good, as well. Overall, a real winner. They were easy to make, and turned out really well!
