I was disappointed in these muffins. Tastefully Simple has a product called Cinnamon Muffin Melts that are similar, but OH so much better than these. I was really hoping that these would be similar to the Tastefully Simple ones since they are like $6/box of mix. However, these reminded me more of a refrigerated biscuit dough. I'll try some others on the site to try and find a similar one. Oh, we still ate all of these, though!

Decadent Peanut Butter Pie

This pie is awesome!!! Like others, I've made it before from the back of the jar. However, this time made some modifications that made it even better: I made an oreo crust, but instead of regular Oreos, used Peanut Butter Oreos. Then, once I brought the crust out of the oven, I put about 2/3 of the jar of fudge on the crust and then popped it back in the oven for a few minutes. This allowed me to spread the fudge without it being too thin. Then, only had 8oz. pkg of Cool Whip, so threw the whole package in and topped the pie with some real whipped cream. Oh, and also added chopped peanuts to the top..yummmmmm!

Thumbprint Cookies I

I could not find my original recipe for these cookies. However, these seemd pretty close. The only thing different I did was to up the temp to 350 and put the thumbprint in BEFORE I baked them. Then, baked them for 8 mins. When I removed them from the oven, I put the jam in them and then let them cool. They look SO much prettier than when you bake the jam. Plus, the jam doesn't go all over the place. I made these with homemade raspberry jam. Delicious!

To Die For Fettuccini Alfredo

I was SO excited to make this and kind of disappointed. The taste was ok, but the texture was grainy...I couldn't get the cheese to melt. I followed the other reviewers advice and reduced the cream to 2 c. and added 1 c. milk. The cream started bubbling quickly (oh, also added clove of minced garlic), but once I added the cheese, it just remained in little shreds. Not sure if it was the cheese quality (pre-shredded, not fresh, but not in the green can, either) or the recipe, but it ended up being thick and grainy instead of smooth and velvety. Seemed, like another reviewer stated, an awful lot of work when I could have gotten the same (if not better) taste/texture from a jar!

Banana Split Cake III

I just thought this was OK...the pudding/crm cheese mixture didn't have a whole lot of flavor. I used 1 box vanilla, 1 box banana puddings. However, I took this to a Labor Day BBQ and it was completely gone, so I guess maybe my opinion was wrong! I DID skip the maraschino cherries and topped it with sliced strawberries and nuts and a drizzle of Hershey's syrup. Next time, I might try doctoring up the pudding layer, maybe that would help.

Strawberry Freezer Jam

I may not be being fair and reviewing this too early, but I just made it and it is sitting the 24 hrs in the jars to cool. The taste is good (although, I have to agree w/ the reviewers who said it's too sweet...next time I'll try the other pectin for reduced or no sugar jams), but I am not sure that it's going to thicken. Right now, it's VERY soupy, not even close to being jam-like. Perhaps the 24 hours is going to help, if it does, I'll update my review, but as for now, only 2 stars.
