Busy Night Turkey Taco Soup with Avocado Cream

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2006
This recipe was delicious. Even my usually picky 12yo ate it and she had it the next day for lunch as well (she has to REALLY like something to do leftovers). I doubled the recipe and used 1 can kidney beans and 1 can chili beans, left out the cilantro, and used cooked chopped chicken from the frozen food aisle. Thanks for sharing!

Becca's Taco Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2004
This was excellent. I did reduce the tomato juice by a little bit (probably about 3 1/2 cups instead of 4) and added diced green chiles as someone else suggesed. Add a little cheese and some fat free sour cream and it's a quick, healthy dinner that's low in WW points.

Tortellini Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2004
Like some of the other reviewers I thought this was a bit bland even after throwing in some onion and doubling the garlic however my husband really liked it so I gave it 4 stars.

Best Ever Meatloaf I

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2002
This was okay, but not spectacular. My husband wouldn't even taste it because as he said "I hate meatloaf!", but my oldest daughter and I liked it okay.

Chicken Tortilla Soup I

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2002
This was really good. Like others, I omitted the hominy and the beans (although I'll probably try it with the beans next time, but we were just tired of bean soups) and added celery which made it really crunchy. Plus I added some of the chips to the soup while it was cooking which gives it a bit more flavor. Really easy and really tasty. Thanks for sharing, Star!

Slow Cooker Taco Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2002
I made this for dinner tonight and it was very good. I really liked that it was so easy to whip together. However neither of my kids would eat it--my daughter said she thought the hamburger was too bland and my son didn't like the tomato taste. Next time I'll probably omit the water (it was a bit soupier than I was anticipating) and add extra onions plus maybe a little bit more chiles. Thanks for sharing this recipe!

Artichoke Tetrazzini

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2002
This was okay, but I agree with others that it was a bit bland even after adding extra thyme and garlic. I had a ton of leftovers because none of the kids would eat it so I'm hoping that it's more flavorful as lunch.

Chicken Shawarma

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2002
This was pretty good although I did end up making a bunch of adjustments. First, instead of the tahini mix I used some Tzaziki which tasted really good on the chicken. I also couldn't find the malt vinegar so used red wine vinegar instead which didn't over power the chicken.

Chicken Enchilada Soup II

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2002
This was very good. I doubled the recipe and it came out great (although we did have a bit of burnt cheese, but you couldn't even taste it). Everyone raved about it and even my picky eldest daughter gulped it down (she ate it like nachos, dipping chips in it!) Thanks to letha for sharing this one!

Cheese Ravioli with Fresh Tomato and Artichoke Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2002
This recipe was awesome! Being into convenience I also used canned tomatoes, but changed it a bit. I used 1 can of Italian recipe peeled tomatoes (I poured out some of the liquid) and 1 can of the peeled and diced tomatoes, drained and I also used bottled garlic instead of fresh. It still came out excellent and was gobbled up quickly. My 1 year old even loved it! Thanks to Cathy for sharing this one with us, we'll defintely be using it again.

Garlic Cheese Biscuits

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2001
I don't know what I did differently than everyone else, but I didn't like these. They tasted very salty and stuck to the (non-stick) pan.

Baked Potato Soup I

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2001
I tested this out while my family is out of town one night (they are pretty picky) and it was great. It needed extra cheese added to the bowl, but was otherwise perfect. My husband came home and ate some of the leftovers and loved it as well. I'll definitely be trying this one out on the kids soon.

Hot Crab Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2001
The version I ended up with was a bit bland, but not too bad. I probably wouldn't make it again though.

Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2001
I was looking for a deviled egg recipe that would help me make them like Grandma does and this is it. I actually added more Miracle Whip than recommended (I just kept adding until it was wet enough for me) and turned this into a quick egg salad even (cut up the egg whites and added them to the mix and spread it on bread). Really good.

Taco Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2001
This was a quick and easy meal that 3 of out of 4 of us liked (unbelievable with my picky family--the 2 yo wouldn't even taste it, but he's not a fan of cheese). Next time I'd probably skip the crushed chips and maybe add some tomatoes and avocado to half. My husband gobbled this up as leftovers with a little salsa and a flour tortilla shell.
