Apple Pie by Grandma Ople
Hi All, this is my go to apple pie recipe. As is it needs little to no adjusting, although, I would add a pinch of salt to the syrup to help balance out the sweetness. This go round, I doubled the flour--apples around here this time of the year are very "watery." I squeezed half a lemon over the apples and tossed in about 1 tsp of cinnamon. I took out a tbs of water and added a tbs of vanilla bourbon in its place. I did use the lattice top crust and poured through the weave. I let the pie sit for several hours to allow the juices to set. Folks, this pie is HIPS and THIGHS waiting to be born!

White Bean Chicken Breast Chili
I made this recipe a couple days ago and added and tweaked a few things to fit my particular tastes, which I will be sharing with everyone via a new recipe post. I did not find this recipe to be too spicy--as a latina the flavor profile was familiar and comforting. However, those with a more subdued palate simply need to tweak the different peppers according to their preference. This recipe is a great foundation for a White Bean Chili, using whichever type of chicken you prefer (white or dark meat) adding cup of roasted tomatillos--for those missing the tomato version; adds a bit of tart/acid without altering the color too drastically. However, the sour cream garnish more than makes up for that and balances the dish beautifully. I served mine with a nice Mexican style cornbread.

E-Z Drop Biscuits
Simple, easy and tender. Careful not to over bake. I prefer using the convection setting on my oven and begin checking after 7 minutes. Normally with a 10 minute total baking time. Remember to whisk dry ingredients first before adding liquids. Add some sharp cheddar and green onions to mix. Wonderful as a base for deconstructed chicken and dumplings or to drop in broth for traditional style. YUMM
