Mexican Style Shredded Pork

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2010
I just made this for father's day. Everyone LOVED it! We used tortillas instead of the rice, though I can see how the rice would be good too. I could not find the sauce anywhere so I made some from a recipe on this site and it was sooo good!I added a little more of the chipotle sauce b/c we like things spicy. Even before the added sauce it was a bit soupy- maybe because I doubled the recipe? regardless I'll definately make this again. Even my 3 kids ages 5, 3 and 2 ate them up!

Perfect Apple Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2010
Even though the crust did not look great (First time making pie crust) the pie tasted AMAZING!! I did do the 1/2 white sugar, 1/2 brown sugar, but otherwise followed the exact recipe. I will be making this again very soon! There is no need to look further for an apple pie recipe, this is it!

Baked Applesauce

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2010
I would give more stars if I could! I made a larger batch using 10 apples of all different varieties that we just picked. Let's put it this way, I burned my mouth (more than once) "tasting" this after it came out of the oven. I almost dont want to give it to the kids b/c I know they will gobble it up! Cant wait to make this for thanksgiving!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2010
So easy!! I think next time I will have to double it b/c all 5 of us LOVED it. Though the dumplings were gone after the first meal, we ate the rest of it for leftovers over rice and it was almost just as good! This is a definate keeper!

Delicious!!! I was able to sneak some more veggies in too without any of the kids complaining! Much more authentic than any other fried rice I've had. Husband is picky when I try something new and he loved this!

Pineapple Bread Pudding

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2010
I have made this many times now, I get so many compliments, even my grandmother raved about it! I've used it with regular bread, with leftover rolls/buns and it always comes out perfect! If you make it I'd advice doubling the recipe because this goes fast!

Debdoozie's Blue Ribbon Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2010
SO Good! I have been making this chili for years, I add some extras that my family enjoys such as corn and since I usually at least double the recipe I add some different beans such as pinto, black, great northern. I get so many compliments every time I make it and it is SO easy! No need to ever try another chili recipe!

Yum!!! I've made this and eaten it with cream cheese frosting and without any frosting and it gets rave reviews from everyone! Is super moist! My 6 year old even requested it for his birthday cake this year! Great way to use up zucchini and I've substituted yellow summer squash and it was just as good!

Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2013
This is a huge hit with my kids! I also sneak in some extra veggies and nobody seems to mind. This is the soup that my 8 year old requests constantly. I agree it is a a little thick and the milk does help when you heat it up. I've made many times and one time even substituted milk for the heavy cream and nobody even noticed.

I made this exactly as written and it is delicious! Have also used just milk vs half/half and though not quite as creamy it was still very good. This is one of our favorite soups in the winter

Lentil Soup with Lemon

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2013
Very good! As usual I added way more garlic and a bit more cumin to my taste but even as stated it's quite good. I wish the rest of my family felt the same way so I could make it more, the don't love lentils as much as I do!

Toscana Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2013
I would give it more stars if I could! This is my number one soup in the winter. Always comes out perfect. Spicy sausage a bit much sometimes for my kids so I usually mix 1/2 mild, 1/2 spicy. I add more kale too just because it's the only time my kids will eat kale. this is my go to dish if I have people over, always a hit and so, so easy!

Bean Soup With Kale

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2013
This is a very easy soup to make and I always have these ingredients on hand anyway. Works well with any beans. I agree that it is better with kale cut smaller. There are so many ways to vary this based on what you have on hand. this is super easy with exception of the blender. would be much easier with immersion blender I assume.

Microwave Bread and Butter Pickles

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2014
So simple! I did several batches. Recipe is perfect as is but also tried with less sugar (just as good) and with added red pepper flakes...nice and tangy! I will be using this all summer. I barely waited for them to cool before I tried them, can't wait to try them in a few days! Will be canning some for storage as well
