Blackened Salmon Fillets

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2013
Didn't have onion powder so used garlic instead as another reviewer suggested. I was worried it would be too spicy because of the amount of cayenne, but I just put less spice on my salmon and more on my husbands and we both loved it. Will definitely make again.

Tomato Spinach and Basil Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2009
Healthy and easy to make. My kids thought it tasted like spaghetti sauce and wanted it with noodles. I put the milk in after boiling as suggested by other reviewers, I also cut back the salt to a pinch since there was salt in the canned tomatoes. I used canned diced tomatoes since that is what I had on hand and put them in the blender before cooking. I am looking forward to cooking this with fresh tomatoes in the summer.

Southwest Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2009
Easy to make and my family likes it. I use frozen corn and serve it with cheese on top.

Turkey Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2009
I was excited to see this recipe as it was similar to what my mom had made when I was a kid. I normally love this vegetable combination, but this was very bland. My kids did not care for it either, I won't be making it again.

Cake Balls

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2008
Mine completely flopped. I had read reviews and refrigerated the cake/frosting mix before making the balls, then froze the balls before dipping them. The first two turned out ok, but the rest started crumbling and the melted chocolate turned into a thick mixture of cake crumbles and chocolate. We gave up, but the remains sure were yummy. Maybe using less frosting is the key.

Chicken Puffs

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2008
I thought this was just ok. I skipped the butter to cut some of the fat and added a little black pepper, but it seemed very bland and doughy. I won't be making them again.

Mediterranean Lentil Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2008
This was really good, I didn't have any fresh parsley so I substituted dried. My kids who normally like vegetables didn't care for it, but I will definitely make it again anyway.

Hamburger Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2008
You have to really like the Lipton Onion Mix to make this. I am not a big fan of the mix, but I like vegetable soups and this soup had great reviews. This soup (using fresh, not frozen vegetables) tastes just like the Onion mix. I guess there are people out there who love this, but not my family. When my son came home he asked if it will taste like it smells which he thought was horrible. If it wouldn't set such a bad example for the kids I would just throw it out.

Fruited Curry Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2008
My husband loves curry and I barely tolerate it, but even I liked this recipe. I used walnuts instead of pecans and less mayo than the recipe called for.

Spicy Basil Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2008
I used dried crushed pepper since I didn't have chili oil or any fresh hot peppers. My plan was to use dried basil since I didn't have any fresh basil, but it tasted so good before I got to the adding basil part that I was afraid or ruining it with the dried basil. I added fresh sweet pepper and sugar snap peas and it was great. No leftovers. I will definitely make again when I have fresh basil.

Best Steak Marinade in Existence

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2008
I would not consider this one of the best marinades out there, I thought it was ok though. The steak was tender and I had all of the ingredients on hand so it was convenient. I will not make this again.

Salsa Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2008
I marinated the chicken in the taco seasoning as well. I served dinner with rice and the leftover chicken went into tortillas for the next day's lunch.

Asian Spicy Tuna Salad

Great change from the usual tuna salad. I use fat free Miracle Whip instead of mayo and it turns out wonderful.

Sugar Cookie Drops

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2008
My pre-teen daughter LOVES these cookies, the recipe is easy enough she makes them on her own. Since they aren't roll out cookies it makes much less mess. She covered the top of the cookies in a variety of sprinkles so they were festive for Christmas.

Blueberry Cream Cheese Pound Cake I

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2008
The cake was very good, but as others have said it took much longer to cook than the recipe indicates. I coated the blueberries with flour as some of the other reviews suggested.

Beef Barley Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2008
This was a big hit in our family. I was worried it would make too much, but the leftovers were all gone within 24 hours. The only change I made was to substitute corn for the peas based on my families preferences.
