Like many people I am a huge lover of potatoes.  Instead of just putting salt and pepper on my mashed or boiled potatoes I make my own potato seasoning!  It's so easy to make a batch of this and keep it in a shaker to be used anytime. 1/4 cup salt 1 tsp paprika 1 tsp dried parsley (I grind this u MORE

About this Cook
I'm a clumsy cook who by some miracle usually ends up turning out something good! Health and taste are my biggest concerns in the kitchen, cost comes up somewhere down the line... I think. I love using spices and making savoury dinners, but baking is my forte.
My favorite things to cook
My first love as a child aside from reading was baking for my family. Cookies, crepes, muffins, cakes. Love 'em all. Since I learned to bake bread, I don't buy it from the store any more. I also love seafood and vegetarian recipes, as well as Japanese and Greek cuisine. I LOVE spicy food, and keep a big bottle of Frank's Red Hot in the fridge for that.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love making my Nanny's cream puffs, actually pretty much all of her recipes I like making. I'm working on creating some traditions of my own now!
My cooking triumphs
I learned how to bake bread quite quickly from a 1970's Home and Gardens cookbook, and it always turns out good!
My cooking tragedies
The first time I tried making cream puffs, I added the eggs too soon and they could have put a dent in the wall. To be fair, I was about 10. I've had lots of near misses as well (I can be clumsy and forgetful in the kitchen.) Usually everything turns out well though, I'm pleased to say... except for that one time I tried to make turnovers using Pillsbury Croissant dough and jam... the jam leaked out all over my favourite baking pan. What a mess!

Princess Cookies
Yummy! These have a very delicate flavour and are not too sweet. They are very spongey which I wasn't expecting but isn't a bad thing. These would be great with tea!

Butter Chickpea Curry
YUM! I used coconut milk and I accidentally added the whole can of it to the pot but adding some canned diced tomatoes remedied that. I added more garlic, curry powder, and added some black pepper and chili sauce to make it spicier. This was delicious over rice.

Unbelievable Chicken
This chicken is delicious! I used spicy German mustard, it really made the dish exceptional. I had this with some crusty rolls and it was fab!
