Murray's Beef, Celery and Pepper Skillet

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2011
Give this TWO THUMBS way up. I did tweak the recipe a bit. I omitted the red wine (didn't have any) and the salt and added 2 Tsp of China Lily soy sauce, 2 cans sliced mushrooms (no juice), 2-lb cubed beef (I love my red meat), 2 Tsp McCormicks Smokehouse Ground Black Pepper, 4 sliced celery stalks and 1 Green Pepper (mainly just because it was in the fridge and needed to be used). Last ingredient I added was 1 x 10oz can of Campbell's Tomato with Basil and Oregano soup. Wife says it's an instant family hit and to keep it handy as we'll be making it lots. Bon apetit.

Robbi's M&M Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2010
Recipe "as is" was an absolute hit. In my oven (as all ovens aren't created equally) took closer to 12-13 minutes to cook. I too, substituted butter for the shortening and taste no difference. Made them yesterday and not a cookie left in the house. Only thing I question is the "Servings". I followed the instructions to a "T" yet, there is no way I could could come out with 72 cookies. I was closer to 35-40. Aside from that, will be saving this and making it again. Well Done !!

Pasta Lasagna

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2010
Only thing I tweaked in this recipe is, I used 2% cottage cheese opposed to ricotta cheese. I'm sure either/or would have worked just fine. Fabulous. Quick and easy...same great taste. Another instant family favourite.

Easy Turkey Gravy

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2009
Found this extremely easy and quick to make. Family have asked that this be the new family favourite. I followed the recipe to the "T" and turned out famously. After the second "boiling", and letting it simmer, was quick thick and flavourful.

Basil Chicken over Angel Hair

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2009
Tried this for the first time last night. Didn't have any fresh tomatoes however, did have Alymer's Diced tomatoes (w/Italian spices). I used two (2) 540mL cans and let it simmer to reduce the amount of liquid. Crushed 4 cloves of fresh garlic and finely diced my onions. Turned out fantastic. Mother-In-Law really liked it and she's picky. Chalk up another recipe that will be made many times over. Didn't have any Angel Hair pasta so, substituted with spaghattini noodles. Worked out just as well.

Slow Cooker Spaghetti Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2009
My family asks for this at least 3 times a month. The only thing I changed in the recipe is the cheese. Instead of using processed cheese, I buy a bag of grated mixed cheese (choice depends on personal preferences) and add that instead. To me, improves the taste. Leftover's are always a hit as well. Highly recommend this to anyone that wants a fast and delicious meal.

Dash's Donair

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2009
Having eaten out East at many a donair restaraunt, I made this for my wife and neighbours (who come from the East Coast). First time I made it, became an instant hit. Reminded family and friends from back home and said that it tasted just like "home". I did not tweak the recipe or add any extra flair. Will definitely make more and take the suggestion to double, maybe even triple the recipe so that there is some to freeze.

Easy Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2009
Made this tonight and has become an instant family favourite. A couple of changes I made was 2 Tbsp Soy Sauce (China Lily) and didn't have cornstarch so, used 2 Tbsp flour. End result I don't think was affected. I cooked my peppers in Olive Oil as well as fresh mushrooms and then once gravy/steak was ready to serve, put it all into the same pot. My daughter (4-yo) went back for seconds and she never goes back for seconds. Highly recommend this a try for anyone. Bon Apetite !!

Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2009
This was very easy to make. Family was skeptical to eat it (i.e. anticipated lack of flavour) however, turned out fantastic. Was so good, they went back for seconds and demanded that there be enough for leftovers for lunch the following day. Instead of Cream of Chicken soup, I substituted Cream of Mushroom soup along with one can of stems and pieces mushrooms and one can of sliced mushrooms. Made garlic mashed potatoes and French-style green beans. Now this is a dish the family wants at least every week, if not two weeks. We have a winner here..(cooked best on Low...IMHO).

Pierogi Dough

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2009
Found this dough to be like most of the recipes I've tried to-date...very difficult to roll out. Followed the instructions to a "T". Not impressed as I had seen many high-ratings. Unfortunately, this may have been an awesome tasting recipe, too much work for the output. Sorry.

Sensational Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2008
Taken as soon as it was finished cooking. Turned out fan-tastic. I added 2-cups of Peaches & Cream corn and some fresh chopped garlic. In addition to the garlix and corn, I also added an extra 4-cups of Chicken Broth to ensure "soup" consistency. Used large egg noodles and felt that if I hadn't added the extra 4-cups, would have been more of a chicken noodle stew. Will definitely make this again. Is already a hit with the family.

Creamy Mushroom Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2008
I followed the recipe to a "T" (will experiment later as I like to add my own flare/flavour after trying the posted recipe). Didn't have access to some of the kinds of mushrooms listed so, simply used white mushrooms diced up fine (not pureed). What a fabulous flavour. Was easy to make (my 3-yr old daughter was able to help). Recommend this recipe to anyone that wants something easy to make and tastes great. Will definitely be a family favourite. Wife isn't a fan of mushroom soup and now she can't get enough. Thank You!

Turkey Wild Rice Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
Most excellent. Having never making it before, this was easy to follow and the "authorities" in the house (wife and daughter) give it two-thumbs up. They are already asking me to make another turkey so we have more leftovers. Don't know what else to say. Am looking forward to making another turkey.
