So I am a wee bit hung over today.
There. I said it.
If you read my last blog entry you would know that we went out for dinner last night.
(my first dinner out as a vegetarian)
It was a fantastic restaurant with fantastic service...the kind of service that makes it IMPOSSIBLE to keep track of your wine intake because your glass is ALWAYS full!
Mind you, I wasnt feeling too "out of it".
Someone else ordered the wine and I found it quite lovely.
Im pretty sure I only had about 2 glasses because I have been trying to cut back on my wine.
When I woke up this morning I felt pretty ... well, crappy!
I have learned recently that when choosing a bottle of wine, you should always look at the back of the bottle to look for "sulfites".
You do NOT want wine with added sulfites.
Why not you ask?
Because you wind up waking up feeling like !
Sulfites are added to wine to fight bacteria growth and make it last longer (preservatives...bleh).
Sulfites are also used to clean the barrels and such.
Sulfites can actually trigger Asthma and allergic reactions!
The wine last night did contain added sulfites.
The proof is in the pudding :)
Next time I will go with some organic red wine...mmmmm...
