Raspberry Linzer Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2008
I've been making this recipe for years. These are tender cookies that require care when baking but I promise you you'll get rave reviews. I bring them everywhere and people love them. Great for baby and bridal showers. Make an impressive presentation. Follow recipe as is.

Szechwan Shrimp

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2008
If felt the sauce to this recipe was bland. Next time I'd add some fish sauce, fresh ginger or ginger paste, sesame seeds and maybe a bit of anchovy paste for added flavor. I steamed green beans and mixed with sauce and soba noodles. Overall this recipe needs to be kicked up more than a notch!

Mock Chicken Fried Steak

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2007
Excellent. This is a super fast weeknight meal. Whole family loved it. I forgot the egg, omitted the chili powder and salt and instead put in a 2 minced garlic cloves, 1/2 package onion soup mix, 1/4 of a grated onion, 1 T of ketchup and pushed the patties into crushed club crackers (pulse in food processor until fine). Awesome and didn't even need gravy. I'll be making this over and over again. Soo fast too!

Non-Edible Cinnamon Ornaments

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2007
This scented my entire house. I only added Cinnamon, not the other spices. I also added about 1/2 c to 1 c of flour. Seems to bind everything more. Tip: pat the mixture on plastic wrap (prevent sticking-easy clean-up) instead of rolling for less cracking. Make'm thick or they'll break! Use simple cutouts to prevent breaking. I baked for 2 hours turning every 1/2 hour to prevent sticking etc. They are wonderful!! Thanx.

Easy and Delicious Chicken and Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2007
This was an excellant base recipe. I added some ingredients for additional taste: I chopped 1/2 an onion, diced 2 garlic cloves and seasoned the chicken with salt, pepper and paprika. I then browned the chicken with the onion and garlic in a pan w/ veg. oil. I also mixed the chick. soup with the rice in the pan, topped with the chicken and onion mixture from the pan (added some pan drippings) and then put 1/2 package of onion soup mix on top. My guests and bf loved it! Nice basic home cooking recipe.

Graham Cracker Crust

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2007
Great recipe. The crust was wonderful however I wouldn't make this for a pie that requires a long cooking time (over 40 minutes) The graham begins to burn.

This wasn't my favorite recipe. If you like a "spicy" pie this recipe is not for you.

Daria's Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2007
My boyfriend made this for me at my suggestion. He followed Sara's recipe in the 8/07 review but used 1/2 red onion and 1/2 white onion. It was excellant. Good flavor. Suggestion...use a dry wine.

Classy Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2007
This recipe was pretty good but not quite as great as expected based on reviews. I subsituted mushrooms for the asparagus. My suggestion would be to leave out the sun dried tomatoes. They add a very acidic taste to an otherwise delicate sauce. I'd make it again but with some adjustments.

Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2007
My father really enjoyed this pie. Some reviewers said to use less milk which I wouldn't do again. I like a more "custardy" pie so next time I'm going to add 1/2 creme and 1/2 skim in order to achieve a lighter pie. All in all, a good recipe. I used feta without the flavoring and it was awesome!
