About this Cook
I go to Central Michigan University where I am a Child Development Major.
My favorite things to cook
I love playing around with foods. I get lots of requests for my Chicken In A Puff Pastry (not a very technical term, I know). I also enjoy baking desserts - Cheesecakes, Pies, Cakes, etc.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Maternal Grandmother was a wonderful cook! She was the type of woman who would have a homemade dinner on the table every evening at precisely 6pm. Growing up, my grandparents lived only a mile away from us, so we got to spend a lot of time with them. I used to love watching her cook and when my mom and her sisters got involved, the kitchen came alive! Now that she's passed on, I have some of her cook books and recipes and I love to think that she is with me when I make one of her favorites.
My cooking triumphs
I recently tried a recipe for Pumpkin Cheesecake that I found right here on AllRecipes.com and it was so good, I've had to make several more since then.
My cooking tragedies
I saw a recipe in a magazine for a pasta bake. It looked easy enough until I went shopping for the ingredients. The town I go to school in doesn't have a lot of gourmet markets or even grocery stores that carry specialty breads, so I skimped and bought the most similar things I could find at Wal-Mart. When I brought it out of the oven, it didn't look quite like the magazine but I figured that was to be expected. Then I tried it and boy, was I glad that I didn't serve this experiment to friends.

Brunch Enchiladas
De-ee-lish!!! Our family tried this recipe on a whim and now we make it all the time! Great for entertaining because it's simple to make, not very messy to make or eat and can be customized to each guest's liking. We set up a Brunch Enchilada Bar so everyone can throw their favorite things on top of their enchilada. My personal favorite - sour cream, lettuce, black olives and taco sauce on the top!

Artichoke & Spinach Dip Restaurant Style
De-lish!!! This was excellent, so easy to throw together and fun to serve. I bought a couple of small bread bowls to serve this in and everyone loved it.

Pumpkin Cheesecake II
Absolutely incredible!!! I didn't have cornstarch so I used 2 tbsp flour instead. Served this for my candle party tonight and even friends who don't like pumpkin and those who don't like cheesecake loved this recipe!!!
