Laura's Quick Slow Cooker Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2010
Thank you, Laura! I made this over the weekend- perfect for Sunday night dinner! Made the recipe EXACTLY but just added a can of corn (drained, of course)! So delicious and healthy. Served it with low-fat sour cream and shredded Mexican cheese, and of course oyster crackers. Was such a hit, we had leftovers for dinner Monday night. Thanks again!

Paul's Pumpkin Bars

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2007
From reading the other reviews, I knew that this would be more of a "cake" and not a bar, so I really wasn't disappointed. However, I really think that the cream cheese frosting makes this cake! It was really delicious! I would definitely recommend making the frosting to go along with these.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2007
These were very good! I made half without walnuts and half with walnuts. I will keep this recipe on rotation with a couple of other chocolate chip cookie recipes.

Chocolate Cherry Cake III

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2007
I made this cake without the frosting because I was short on time so I used pre-packaged chocolate frosting. This cake is a great alternative to just a regular chocolate cake. The cherries add a nice texture and make this cake very moist and the almond extract is necessary- I added a 1/2 tsp. extra, in fact. Rave reviews from the DH. I made 2 8-inch round cakes and made a beautiful layered cake and served it after our Valentine's dinner. Will make this again for another special occasion!

Asian Ground Beef and Pepper Saute

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2007
Just cooked this for a quick dinner and it turned out very nicely! I pretty much followed the recipe but added chopped white onion. I also served it with brown rice with barley. Healthy and delicious!

Baked Lemon Chicken with Mushroom Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2007
This was excellent! I took the others' advice about searing my chicken breast on a pan first (it looks better when served and also makes the chicken crisp on the outside and juicy in the inside) before baking it. I also added white wine to the sauce and it was divine. My husband and I really enjoyed this dish. I served it with roasted potatoes and steamed green beans.

Champagne Punch III

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2006
I made this for a party and it was gone in a half an hour. Everybody loved it, including my mother who is not a drinker! This was great- I would even do a non-alcoholic version for a kids party!

Breakfast Sausage

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2006
This is fantastic! I just made it this morning and it was a hit! I can't believe how good it is. I left out the marjoram & clove (only because I didn't have any) and it still turned out great! Next time, I will add more red pepper flakes to give it some more zing! Some other reviewers changed the amount of spices listed but I followed the listed amounts and the patties turned out wonderful!

Famous Chicken Francaise

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2006
This was just okay. Sounds better than it actually tastes. Mine turned out just fine in terms of not messy and holding the flour/egg mixture but the taste was just not that impressive. If I try this one again, I will add some spices for some more kick.

Banana Cake V

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2006
This was fantastic! Like the others said. don't forget about the vanilla. I did a low-fat version. I used applesauce and a little bit of Promise butter substitute. Also half and half of brown & white sugar. You don't even need frosting for this- it is so good. Even my husband who doesn't care for bananas really liked this cake!

Korean BBQ Chicken Marinade

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2006
I would give this recipe 10 stars if I could! I made this last night and my husband (who is not Korean) said it was the best dinner I ever made! This is one fantastic marinade! I am Korean and this is very authentic and I saved some of the marinade to make a sauce at the end- just added cornstarch & water and boiled it out. I recommend the chili paste because that will make it ulitimately a real Korean dish! Thanks, Il-Byung! Please share some more recipes!

Salsa Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2006
This dish is fantastic! I usually make a lot of this because for leftovers, I shred the chicken and serve them in tortillas with lettuce, tomatoes, & diced onions- an added twist to leftovers! I followed this recipe to the letter and it worked for me! For those watching your fat intake, use low-fat cheese & sour cream, you won't miss the taste!!

Creamy Banana Bread

Reviewed: May 30, 2006
This was the best banana bread recipe I have come across yet! I used walnuts instead of pecans because I find that walnuts and bananas make a fantastic combination. Also, I made a little bit of extra cinnamon, brown sugar, & walnut mixture to put on top of the loaf as well as in the middle. It turned out great! It is more like a coffee cake with that because of the crunchy topping. Also added more bananas and a little bit more vanilla. This is a great recipe truly!

Cream Cheese Brownies III

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2004
These were TREMENDOUS! After reading the other reviews, I increased the amount of chocolate & cream cheese. Instead of swirling the cream cheese, I just put the cheese mixture on top of the brownie so the brownies were white on top- that way you can taste the cream cheese part better. I also used walnuts instead of pecans. It was my first time making brownies from scratch and they turned out perfectly!

Urban Legend Chocolate Chip Cookies

This may be the BEST cookie recipe I have ever tried! The oats in this recipe make the texture of this cookie very sturdy yet crumbly when eaten. You will not regret making these!

Aunt Cora's World's Greatest Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2004
I must say I have been using this recipe for a few years now and it is just great! If you're in the mood for something more than just the regular chocolate chip cookie, THIS IS IT! If you like a more peanut buttery cookie like me, add an extra 1/2 cup of peanut butter. These disappear fast!

This is mediocre comfort food. The sauce was a little too rich but ok if you are super hungry.
