I followed the directions to a T. I thought this pie was WAY too sweet. I'll try other recipes.

Sophie's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2011
Very good stuff! Substituted half of the flour with pastry whole wheat, used 1 cup dark brown sugar and 3/4 of white, cut down a bit on the oil too. Dense and moist with a great flavor! Try it.

Simple Scones

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2011
These are the bees knees! I make them often and always make 2 batches (one at a time though). Only use the food processor---no bowls needed! I typically add some sort of flavoring such as vanilla or lemon also. Just put in ingredients---pulse---add whatever fruits or such and pulse a few more times and DUMP it all on baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Pat lightly into circle and cut into 8ths----pull apart---do not let them touch and bake for about 15 min. You will love them!

I made this for Dolly our Mini Schnauzer and it is a keeper! I froze some meals to be heated up later and will alternate veggies and grains. I chopped all the veggies in the food processor. I also topped with a a half tsp of ground egg shells per serving. Thanks for the recipe!

Red Lentil Curry

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2011
This dish was really great! I added more of the other ingredients as I didn't have curry paste and when I researched what was in it, it seemed to be more of the same. I added a couple of tablespoons of butter right before serving which just added such richness. I also added chopped fresh spinach, a can of chopped tomatoes and a couple Tablespoons of tomato paste. Try it!

Pumpkin Crumb Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2010
Oh baby! This was really tasty! The whole family raved. I cut back on the sugar and ended up MAKING MY OWN YELLOW CAKE MIX as I didn't have one. That was easy to do so I'll do that again. I also added spices to the pumpkin as it seemed to call for it. I made it in a spring form pan and am glad I did. It was BEAUTIFUL but you do have to cook it about 10 min more. I let it cool completely before taking off the spring-form. You won't be disappointed.

Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2010
This was delicious! I used a large can of Trader Joe's Marinara Sauce instead of the tomatoes. I used a LOT more garlic and added a pkg of frozen spinach instead of the parsley and a tsp of Italian spice. The whole family loved it. Thanks for the recipe.

A tasty muffin! I used half whole wheat pastry flour, used half brown/half white sugar, added 1/2 tsp salt, and added some diced candied ginger. Baked up 6 large muffins. Fantastic! I topped with a orange cream cheese frosting. The whole family loved them. I will make them again and again. Thanks for the recipe!

Broccoli with Garlic Butter and Cashews

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2010
YUMMY! My whole family raved about this dish. I made it easy by making the sauce first and then sauteing the fresh broccoli from my garden in it about 3 minutes or less. Great flavors. Thanks for this recipe!

Lemon Sugar Tea Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2010
These are the real deal! I have made them several times. I add lemon peel and juice along with the lemon extract. I also had 1/2 salt and 1/2 tsp of cream of tartar as I like that cracked top look. They are fabulous cookies! Enjoy.

Gingered Molasses Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2009
These could be ALL RECIPES best kept secret! They were VERY good! I did tweak a bit. I used half brown/half white for the sugar, and used heaping amount of all the spices. I had some crystallized ginger here so I chopped some and threw that in but they would be just as good without. Orange peel is a must. Watch your time in the oven to keep them soft. Thank you Donald for this keeper of a recipe.

Peanut Butter Vegetable Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2009
We ALL loved this! I too sauteed onion, celery/garlic in a little olive oil, added homemade broth, used broccoli, fresh frozen corn, SWEET POTATO (white and orange) and some ground ginger and ground lemon grass. I think a touch of cinnamon would be good too. The Peanut butter is a must! Fear not! A great soup to use up all your veggies in the frig. Better the next day. This is a keeper.

Soft, Moist and Gooey Cinnamon Buns

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2009
I made these for my twins Sweet 16 birtday and they were amazing! I loved the ease of making them in the bread machine and the dough was so easy to work with. I used a cream cheese frosting and cooked them only 14 minutes. I made 12 in the 8x13 pan and made 5 more in a smaller pan to freeze. Try them!

Grilled Fish Tacos with Chipotle-Lime Dressing

Reviewed: May 3, 2009
This recipe rocks! I have fallen in love with Fish Tacos since moving to San Diego 5 yrs ago. This is the recipe I served my family on Easter and it was a huge hit! I used Mahi Mahi as I like the firm texture of it. I also used a combo of white corn, yellow corn and flour tortillas. The sauce was great and I made a quick pico de gallo to put on them also. I have made this recipe twice since Easter and have grilled and cooked in the oven and they are equally tasty. Thanks for my new favorite!

Chicken Tagine

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2009
WHOA! This was really a delicious recipe! I added a tsp more of flour, a tablespoon of chopped fresh parsley just because I had it and a tsp of dried lemongrass. I had NEVER cooked with eggplant (they scare me) but was glad I did. I also cup up a couple white sweet potatoes and will do so next time. Go for it. Don't OVERCOOK it though. I served mine over brown basmati rice.

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2008
The best Cream Cheese Frosting EVER! I was a little skeptical of this recipe because of previous reviewers but halved the recipe and followed it exactly and it turned out perfectly. IT went fantastically with pumpkin muffins...my only advice is to make sure butter and cream cheese are at room temperature before making.
