Grocery Store Frosting

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2013
UNbelievable!!! So good! Followed recipe to the T and it comes out perfect every time! The best, and I've tried lots! I could've eaten this by the spoonfuls! Makes enough for two batches or whoopie pies!

Sam's Famous Carrot Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2013
This truly is the best! Tried making it before omitting the coconut & pineapple and it definitely was missing something. Made it for Easter this year, following the recipe to a 't' and it was awesome! I wouldn't change a thing!

Teriyaki Chicken

Great recipe! I did however follow other reviews and used brown sugar instead of white sugar. Very tender and flavorful!

Blueberry Buttermilk Coffeecake

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2010
Very tasty! I made this using fresh strawberries instead of blueberries and it was devoured within a day or two! I definitely agree with other reviews, add brown sugar & cinnamon to crumb topping. Not a very sweet cake. Next time I make this, I may increase sugar to 1-1/2 cups.

Pecan Tarts

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2010
YUM! My boyfriend (being from Texas) has had the best of the best as far as pecan pies go. Having never made pecan pie or tarts before I was a nervous wreck but he LOVED them and as others have stated, you can't eat just one! They are moist and delicious! My only problem was the filling overflowed into my oven and you practically needed a chisel to get it off. Any suggestions?

Irresistible Irish Soda Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2010
This bread is very tasty and moist. You definitely need raisins to make this bread complete. I like my bread a bit on the dense side so I tried not to overcook it. I baked it in a loaf pan at 350 for 1 hour and it came out perfect! My coworkers who never had Irish Soda Bread are now a huge fan!

Four Cheese Macaroni

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2010
Excellent! As others suggested, I omitted the eggs, doubled up on all cheeses except I omitted the Muenster cheese (personal preference). I will definitely make this recipe again, however next time I woke bake it quite so long. The top was a little too overcooked for me.

Pumpkin Whoopie Pies

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2009
You've got to try this recipe!! Moist & flavorful! However I did not use the cream filling suggested. Instead I made them with a cream cheese filling that was to die for! Can't keep them in the house, they were gobbled up as quickly as I made them!

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2009
Excellent recipe. I actually made a mistake with the ingredients and it still turned out very good. What I did was doubled the batch and doubled everything except for the butter. Very tasty and moist nonetheless. I will definitely be making this again!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

SO good!! Definitely need to double the gravy part or it will come out too dry but definitely a keeper in my book! Can't wait to make it again!

Grandma Johnson's Scones

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2009
Excellent recipe! Moist & tender! I followed other viewers suggestions and added the additional 1/2 cup of sugar which I am glad I did. I also didn't realize just how much these spread. I made six HUGE chocolate chip scones. Had to bake them a bit longer but it was well worth it! Next time I plan on trying some different variations, such as blueberries, raisins, cranberries

Crab Rangoon III

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2009
Very good recipe. The taste is real close to what you get in the restaurants. However, it was a little too much crab for our liking. I'm going to make them again using one 6oz. can of crab! Definitely worth a try!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2008
I've tried making apple pies before but none ever tasted as good as this one!!!! I cheated a bit and used store bought crust but this came out fabulous none the less. I also used fresh MacIntosh apples that I picked. I took the suggestions from other reviews and added a tsp. of cinnamon and a tablespoon of vanilla. It almost had an apple crisp flavor to it. Top it off with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and you'll be in heaven! I will definitely be making this pie again!

Apple Turnovers

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2008
These are SO good! I've never made turnovers before and was pleased with the results. The icing just makes this recipe! The only change I will make next time is try baking them at 350. They seemed to spill over and burn at 400. This recipe is definitely a keeper!

Cranberry Nut Bread II

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2008
I have used the recipe for years and got it from my Mom. It is SO good and very moist. I made a batch last night but added some blueberries for a little extra sweet/sour kick. The only change I make to this recipe is add 1 tsp. of vanilla. Other than that I wouldn't change a thing. I have also made this recipe without the orange zest and it comes out perfectly fine.

Blueberry Cream Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2008
I wasn't that impressed with this recipe. The muffins came out rather dry and a little dense for my liking. I also took other readers suggestions and added more sugar and they still were not that great.

Blueberry Buckle

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2008
Very good! Made this recipe with fresh blueberries. I may add a full cup of sugar next time and not bake it so long. The edges came out a bit dry, but will definitely make this again. It's a nice change from blueberry muffins.

Stack of Onion Rings

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2008
These were better than I thought they would be. However, I did have the same problem a few others have reported as far as getting the flour to stick. What I did was mixed the flour and bread crumbs together. I dipped the onions in the egg/cream mixture and then into the flour & crumbs. It seemed to work out fine. I also used half & half since I didn't have any heavy cream but the taste was good and they were gone within a matter of minutes. I also used my deep fryer to make these.
