About this Cook
I am secondary teacher in Kentucky. I have two children, four and six. They keep me busy.
My favorite things to cook
I love to try new things with exotic ingredients. They don't always turn out the best, but it is still fun to try. I watch all of the reality cooking shows , like Bravo's Top Chef and become inspired.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom always made "Sue Surprises." She would take ingredients that were in the kitchen and make some sort of concoction. Some turned out ok others just bombed. Most recently, on her visit to see her newest grandchild, she made eggs and chicken with green peppers, onions, and tomatoes. There is a reason I have never seen this on any menu I have read!!!
My cooking triumphs
Learning to grill.
My cooking tragedies
I always mess up cakes, cookies and pretty much any other baked goods. I try to blame it on the oven, but I think my husband is on to me.

Caramel Apple Pork Chops
My family loved this recipe. I used a can of apple pie filling as suggested by another reviewer; it's saves a lot of time. I've made this twice, once the boneless chops and once with cheaper pork steaks. I don't recommend using the pork steaks!!

Barbie's Tuna Salad
Nice twist on Tuna Salad. The parm cheese does the trick. Loved it.

Slow Cooker Beef Vegetable Soup
So easy and So good. One of my favorite recipes. I tweek it a bit by adding a can of mushrooms and some beef stock for a little more flavor.
