Salmon Patties I

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2010
I had to give this only a 2 as it is because it was so very dry and unable to form a patty, even after adding the liquid from the can. I added an extra egg and some egg substitute to make about a total of 2 1/2 eggs and it was much better. If I were rating it then, I would rate it a 4, but I am rating the recipe as it is. If you make it, you may need to add the extra eggt also.

Shrimp with Lobster Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2010
First of all, this recipe does NOT need all this oil. I made it with half the oil and there was still plenty. Enough to be greasy. It was ok but I had to add seasoning to the end because it was bland. Overall, not something I would bother with again although it was ok enough to eat. Too expensive, too much trouble (and I love to cookand was looking forwar to this all day) and didn't tast more than just ok.

Easy Batter Fruit Cobbler

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2009
I had too many nectarines ripen at once and a ton of blueberries after I went picking. I made this almost exactly as written but also substituted Splenda for sugar and it was perfect! I can't wait to make it again and try other fruits.

Garlicky Baked Butternut Squash

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2009
Made this almost exactly as written except didn't use fresh garlic, used it from a jar and used about 1 tsp chopped. Added the parm cheese about half way through cooking also as suggested, and reduced temp to 375. It was so delicious that my family ate the whole thing and my guest couldn't stop raving, although he had no idea what veg it was! Will add it to my recipe box as a keeper. I started with a whole squash and pricked skin, microwaved for 3 minutes before peeling and cutting up but I would always use the cut up kind if I could find it for ease of prep.

At first taste it was ok, but then I did not care for it.

Bacon Wrapped Smokies

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2007
After all the great reviews I was disappointed. They were soso and not worth all the effort. Not bad tasting but certainly not the awesome treat all the reviews claimed. Sugared bacon would have tasted the same.

Baked Kale Chips

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2011
These were very good if they came out ok, but some burned if you didn't catch them in time. Some cooked before others, necessitating my checking them constantly after 5 minutes and taking some off the baking sheet and letting others stay a minute longer or so and then checking again and again. A complicated process to catch them just right at a crispy stage before burning. They tasted great and I am not a kale eater. I am not sure it is worth the trouble of it all. I made it from a large prewashed, organig back because the other kale is said to be high in pesticides.

Creamed Chipped Beef On Toast

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2010
hear me out... I gave it 4 starts just to leave a comment. I haven't made it yet as per the recipe, BUT I made it with the Buddig beef as some suggested and I have to say I have never made a more tasteless, bland, dreadful meal. I added the cayenne and sure, it added heat but it didn't fix the dreadful taste. Next time I will follow the original recipe and then decide how many stars. Sorry Buddig fans

Scalloped Corn and Broccoli

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2010
This was wonderful. I made it as written except that I used egg beaters instead of real eggs. I liked it so much that I barely ate the other things I made to go with it at dinner! It turned out softer than I thought it would even after I cooked it longer, but it tasted great! A great recipe to keep and share.
