I love everything about New Orleans- the food, the people, the food! They experiment with food and aren't afraid to take chances with different cuisines. Not just heat, but flavors that excite. No bland foods in NOLA. Oh,how I miss it when I can't be there.
My life is devoted to my humann family and my 5 wonderful big dogs.
My favorite things to cook
seafood, soups, anything exciting. I know how to fix a recipe and adjust as I cook. That's why I don't bake. Baking is like chemistry- you have to get it right BEFORE you put it in the oven. That's too much pressure for me. I admire all the good bakers out there. Although I do make a pretty amazing Jewish Apple Cake. Dense, delicious, moist and packed with apples.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Sunday morning eggs and onions, Thanksgiving with my famous stuffing, great family get togethers centered around food
My cooking triumphs
amazing white sauce seafood lasagna, chowders and soups, stuffed clams, Coquille St. Jacques, tender bbq ribs, omelets, kugel
My cooking tragedies
when I was first married I made a macaroni casserole that the dog wouldn't eat. I have no idea why it was so bad, but trust me- it was!
