Kosher Salt Encrusted Prime Rib Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2007
This recipe is every bit as good (and shocking) as everyone else has said. I cooked a 14 pound roast and used about 1 1/2 pounds of the koser course salt. I used the salt dry on top of the roast and wetted it for the sides which was a great move. It stuck to the sides well and the water/salt combo made a better crust than the dry salt alone. The meat was absolutely fabulous and everybody raved, even my critical sister said it was better than any restaurant. As far as the quality, I found the least exensive place to buy at $2.98 per pound and it really didn't matter, it was superb!

Spectacular Marsala Glazed Carrots with Hazelnuts

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2007
Yum! Cooked carrots never tasted so good. I doubled the recipe but used less butter than called for. I cooked the sauce for a good 20 minutes to try and thicken but it didn't seem to...? Didn't matter though, 100% delicious flavor. My mother didn't even want to try but I insisted... she asked for the recipe and said she doesn't like carrots but really liked these and knows she should eat them! I will keep this recipe for sure. Thanks!

Light 'n' Creamy Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2007
I used fat free sour cream and low fat cream cheese cause that is what i FOUND at the store... My bf added fresh smashed garlic cloves (2) instead of garlic powder and it made all the difference. Very yummy potatoes.

Wild Rice Stuffing for Turkey

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2007
This was hands down the best stuffing I have ever had. I love wild rice so maybe that is why. My only suggestion would be to cook the wild rice until it busts through the black skin. I cooked 25 minutes but it was a bit too chewy, but at the same time, sooo very tasty. I think the seasoned crutons is very mucgh a secret to incredible stuffing. I will use this recipe every time!

Sunday's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2007
OMG, this simple pie tasted soooooo good! Due to my bf's oven we had to cook almost twice as long before the crust looked done, but boy oh boy, the apples and crust were perfect. It wasn't the prettiest pie due to my 9.5 inch pan, but it really was tasty.

Sweet Potato Casserole I

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2007
This recipe is the bomb! I truly have never had a better sweet potato dish. I LOVE the orange flavor from the orange peel. We grated them finely and it was super yummy. I used walnuts instead of pecans because that is what I had handy. I would also point out for new cooks, the recipe does not say to peel the potatos after cooked, make sure you take the peels off before mashing! Try this recipe!

Roasted veggies is the way to go. We especially like the roasted brussels sprouts. I added onions to this too cause we love onions. My boyfriend thought this was the best dish we made for Tday and all recipes were from this site! These are also yummy cold!

Alaska Salmon Bake with Pecan Crunch Coating

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2007
Yum! We made this for Thanksgiving and it was great. We bought fresh salmon from the fish store and the only change was marinating in the mustard honey sauce before cooking and adding chopped green onion to the breading mixture. We also added seasoned croutons to the fresh breadcrumbs. Highly recommend this recipe.
