About this Cook
I've always been able to wing it in the kitchen to get by. Now that I am older I am enjoying cooking and have so much fun trying recipes with my boyfriend. With wine of course!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Baking with my children.
My cooking triumphs
The salt encrusted prime rib roast from this sight... WOW!!!! I impressed everyone at Christmas.
My cooking tragedies
At Thanksgiving I handed my boyfriend the Cumin instead of the Cinnamon for the Apple pie...! Luckily it was on top of the sugar so I got just about all of it out and it was the best apple pie ever.

Beaker's Vegetable Barley Soup
OUTSTANDING! Here is what I did differently: I added 4 quarts veggie broth, chili paste instead of curry, fresh garlic instead of powder, small kidney beans instead of garbanzo, added mushrooms, a can of green beans and 1/3 package frozen chopped spinach. Finally I added fresh chopped Italian parsley instead of dried. Truly one of the best soups I have ever made, thank you for the recipe!

Thai Peanut Dressing
I just made this pretty much to the T except I guesstimated rather than measure things out exactly... the only thing I changed was like others I did not add the corn starch... I did a rolling bubbling until it was the consistency I like which was only a few minutes. Very good flavor, going to be great on the vietnamese spring rolls I am making. Thanks for this recipe, just what I needed.

Coconut Macaroons III
Outstanding recipe even after forgetting to add the vanilla, but otherwise followed exactly! Try dipping in dark chocolate on the bottom and then into sliced toasted almonds! Looks and tastes great! So very good fresh after baking and still tasted good the next day but not as good as out of the oven. Thanks for the recipe!
