Picnic Potato Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2011
I was looking for a recipe on here similar to one I have made in the past with potatoes, seasoning and oil that I serve cold, but couldn't find it. I saw this recipe and decided to try it. I followed the recipe as written and I do agree with the other reviews that there is too much oil in the recipe. Other than that the recipe was pretty good aside from lacking a little more "oomph". Next time I make this I will try adding to the spices a bit to see what I can do. Perhaps some garlic salt would do the trick.

Candied Kielbasa

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2011
Made this for a family get-together at the house and it was delicious! I do agree with some of the other reviews about it being a bit too sweet, but my husband loved it as is so it's just a matter of taste. I think next time I will add extra horseradish sauce to spice it up a bit.

Parmesan Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2011
These were pretty good, but I do agree with the other comments that it needs some spices to kick it up a bit. I added garlic salt, thyme, and basil, but I think it still needed some more kick to it. Next time I'll add more spices. I served these up using cut up chicken breasts and served them with barbecue sauce.

Spaghetti Carbonara II

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2011
I really liked this. My husband thought it could use less onion, but he's not a fan of onion. We both thought that it needed more bacon however. We halved the recipe and used 4 slices for 1/2 lb of spaghetti. Next time we'll definitely add more bacon along with a bit more garlic. Thanks for sharing!

Ham Bone Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2011
Love this recipe! It reminds me of mom's soup when I was a kid. The only thing I do different is add extra kidney beans, some green beans and some diced ham to add some more meat to the soup.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2011
This was a nice simple recipe. That said I do believe that some spices to need added to make this a 4 or 5 start recipe. The chicken came out wonderfully as it shredded just by stirring. Next time I will try adding some veggies to it and some spices and see if that adds to it.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2008
Oh my Gosh!!!! Can I give this 10 stars? I was looking for an easy recipe one day that didn't require a lot of effort on my part and came across this recipe. I had almost everything needed for it as well, which usually isn't the case with most recipes I find. I LOVE the fact the chicken can be thrown in frozen. I threw 6 frozen breasts in the crockpot, used Sweet Baby Ray's Vidalia Onion BBQ Sauce, the amount of brown suger the recipe calls for, Heinz Worcetershire Sauce, and.....ooops! No Italian dressing! No problem! I substituted Kraft Light Balsamic Vinagrette dressing. I worried how the taste would be affected but it was INCREDIBLE! Next time (and there WILL definitely be a next time,)I may throw in some red onion bits as well. The sauce came out perfect in consistency as I broke the chicken up when it started getting tender and allowed it to remain in the crockpot to thicken up and absorb the BBQ sauce. Do yourself a favor and try this!!! You won't be disappointed!

Italian Beef Hoagies

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2008
This was really simple and tasted great. I added the pepper rings in and was worried about people not liking them because of the peppers however once the peppers sat in the crock pot a while, you could hardly taste them. I also added in some onions. Next time I will add more peppers.

Awesome Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2007
This recipe was really good, however the amount of italian dressing is not enough if you are going to let the salad sit overnight. At my husband's request, I added some broccoli and some carrots and omitted the olives and pepper. I found that after sitting overnight it was a bit dry, so I suggest adding more italian dressing right before serving so it is to your liking. That's the only reason this received 4 stars instead of 5.

Springtime Potato Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2007
This was great! It may seem a bit sweet for some what with the addition of the pickles and the sugar, but you just need to cut the sugar back if you want less sweetness. I loved the pickles in the salad. It made for a great Labor Day picnic!

This was WONDERFUL!!!! I did as some others suggested and used Raspberry preserves, but it didn't give it much of that raspberry taste. Next time I'll stick with the recipe as is! Tahnks for sharing!!!

Hamburger Hash

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2007
I'm only giving this 4 stars because of my own screw up. I added the W sauce and some salt, and it was disgustingly salty. Again, that's my own fault. Next time I will have to try it without the sauce. Either that or cut back on it. Can anyone tell me how much sauce they added?

Cindy's Tasty Wings

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2007
This did sound gross, but trust me, you NEED to try this! It was wonderful!!! I ended up putting the wings in the oven for the first 20 minutes to thaw them out a bit then after that I poured the sauce on and baked them for another 40 minutes. The only thing I would recommend is to put foil on the bottom of the pan. The sauce burnt to the bottom of my pan and I had to soak it quite a few times until I could get all of the sauce off. Other than that, this was wonderful!!

Pork Chops for the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2006
My husband and I don't care for too much soy sauce, so after reading the reviews I made some revisions. I doubled the sauce up by using 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/8 cup of soy sauce, 1/2 cup ketchup, a pinch of cloves and ginger, and 1/2 cup of water, The sauce was wonderful, but unfortunately the chops were dry, and they were only on low heat for 4 hours. The meat was falling off the bone, but like I said, it was dry. Maybe next time I will try 2-3 hours instead of 4.

American Lasagna

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2006
Unfortunatley I haven't had a slice of this lasagna as of yet being I made it twice for my parents, and my hubby doesn't like lasagna. (I know, he's an odd one! lol) But I was told it was just as good as my mom's recipe and that's a ringing endorsement!! My husband did try some of the sauce while it was simmering and he LOVED that! So I may have to try it for a thick spaghetti sauce. Thanks for sharing the recipe!!

Beef Marinade I

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2006
Love this marinade!!!! I also cut down on the soy sauce as I am not a fan of it. I halfed the marinade recipe and only used 1 TBS soy sauce. I also used Balsamic Vinegar instead, let it sit for three days and broiled them. I had a left over piece the next day, and it tasted even better the second time around! Great recipe Debi!!! Thanks for sharing!
