My Wedding Day
About this Cook
I never really knew how much I loved to cook/bake until I got married a few years ago. I've been loving the adventure ever since, and so has my husband! He is constantly bragging about my cooking to whoever will listen.
My favorite things to cook
I love to try new recipes, but I tend to lean toward Mexican or Italian recipes, or anything from scratch that looks challenging. My true love however, is baking! Pretty much anything sweet, I love to make it, and eat it!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I come from a long line of wonderful cooks. I regularly use my grandmother's and mother's recipes that I remember from childhood. Of course now, we've learned how to make them even healthier.
My cooking triumphs
I'm always trying new recipes, and most of the time, they turn out great. A few of my triumphs include, Chicken Parmesan, Manicotti with homemade crepes, Chicken Pot Pie, and a triple layer german chocolate cake - all from scratch!
My cooking tragedies
I recently discovered that I am gluten intolerant and for someone who loves to bake as much as I do, this in general was a huge tragedy. Before I was gluten intolerant, I had very few cooking/baking tragedies, however, since entering the world of gluten free baking/cooking, unfortunately, I've had to actually throw away several things. You can't fudge or improvise a whole lot with gluten free baking, so I'm learning what I can and can't substitute. In general, this has been a huge life adjustment for me, but little by little my cooking/baking tragedies are turning into triumphs as I get the hang of things.

Pumpkin Pie Pudding
This was incredible! Better than pumpkin pie in my opinion! Subbed half & half for the evaporated milk because I didn't have on hand. Took about 3 hours in my large crock pot. Will definitely make this again!

Cider Cheese Fondue
I've made this several times and it never disappoints. It's very simple and uses cheeses you can pronounce!

Italian Sausage, Peppers, and Onions
This has become one of my favorite recipes! The flavors are so amazing together. I serve with pasta topped with Italian seasoned diced tomatoes on the side. Sooo yummy!
