Salisbury Steak

I apologize in advance for a negative review. I found the sauce to be extremely confusing to the palate and simply inedible. it had overwhelming strange tangy, almost vinegar flavor.. I made it exactly as directed and even doubled the sauce because other reviewers stated it was so good they wanted extra. This is actually the first and only recipe I've made from this site that I found to be an extreme disappointment.

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Seldom am I one to EVER write a review...but this is JUST THAT GOOD!!! I prepared it exactly as written and baked for 30 mins. it is PRECISELY the type of corn bread recipe I've been searching for. It has the perfect moist texture and sweetness that our family enjoys. Although I'm a Texan, I'm not particularly fond of the more traditional dry, crumbly non sweet version. This is a KEEPER!!!

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

This was fantastic! Slight variations from the recipe..* Used 5lb. rump roast trimmed all fat and rubbed generously w/ pepper and garlic granules. * 6oz. Newcastle Brn. Ale/6 oz. beef stock * Substitu te 1 can beef consomme' for beef broth. *2 tsp. worchestire. * Cooked on low 8 hrs, sliced meat & returned to low for 1 more hour. *Packaged Au Jus prepared seperately(for the dipping sauce)using 1 cup beef stock/2cups water because that gave us the more traditional "dip flavor" we love. Melted provolone on top. Just like the real thing :)

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

I really thought this one was "in the bag" based on all the great reviews. However, I found the cookie base tasted rather salty and not very flavorful. Next time I will probably try a different peanut butter recipe. They sure are cute and fun to make. Definitely freeze Reeses cups, first. That worked out great.
