About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
cookies, brownies, pies from scratch, strawberry shortcake & any other desserts
My favorite family cooking traditions
Used to be making pies with my Grandma, but now that she has passed away I make them every Thanksgiving and Christmas with my sisters and husband. My daughter likes to help too. My whole family uses a lot of my Grandma's recipes (not always healthy for you, but VERY good comfort food).
My cooking triumphs
Chocolate chip cookies. I make some awesome ones.
My cooking tragedies
My first meatloaf I made. I didn't have celery and used celery seed instead.. and way too much! Yuck! Went straight to the trash. And it was so aggrevating cause it takes so long to bake. I learned next time to leave the celery out. I think it tastes better without it anyway. And now my meatloaf tastes pretty good.

Sweet Potato Casserole VI
Sooo good! I followed the recipe exactly. Don't need to make any changes. I made it for Thanksgiving and lots of people that hate sweet potatoes loved this! My father-in-law makes a recipe similar but with butternut squash. I love it and will make it every Thanksgiving. I hate usual Thanksgiving sweet potatoes but love this. Almost like a dessert or a pie. Thanks for the recipe!

Cranberry Sauce
Turned out great! All I added was a dash of lemon juice also, and followed everything else. Thanks for the recipe!

Bechamel Sauce
Yum! I followed another reviewer's suggestion and used 2 cups of milk and a boullion cube instead of the chicken broth and half and half. Made mine on the stovetop. Didn't have thyme, so I used a dash of Italian seasoning. Used onion powder instead of grated onion. Served it on butternut squash ravioli I bought from Costco. Turned out really well! My husband loved it. Tasted just like Lean Cuisine butternut squash ravioli I love. Coulda used some chopped up walnuts in it & it would have been exactly the same. Thanks for the recipe. Will definitely make again!
