Blake's Best Steak

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2007
I was shocked at the amount of flavor that came from this very simple recipe. The rosemary made all the difference!

Blue Cheese Fried Potatoes

very yummy. It tasted awesome, but didn't look outstanding. Will make it again and really crisp the potatoes for our liking.

Southern Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2007
Awesome! So moist and good! Simple flavor, but that is how pulled pork should be. I made a slaw of shredded cabbage, pickles, onions, sugar, vinegar, mustard, olive oil and put it on buns. YUM!

Chocolate Banana Bread Pudding

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2007
very good. I took others advice and used only 1/2 cup sugar and added some cinnamon and an extra banana. I also used a few extra chocolate chips, but it didn't need it. Will make this again and again. I used a 9x13 pan for 70 mins.

Chateaubriand con Vino Brodo

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2007
Cooked a 4 lb. version in a roasting pan on the grill for a last minute Christmas brunch addition. Served with small buns to make mini sandwiches. Every bite was gone! I didn't take the time to make the sauce. I just served it with creamy horseradish. Awesome!!!!

Outrageous Caesar Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
I used this as I could not find my own dressing recipe (it had been a while since I used it). No need to find my recipe! Yum was the word from my husband and friends. Made a great addition to our new years eve meal. I had to skip the anchovies for our friends, but will make it again and go for it. Thanks for sharing - you really helped me out when I was in a pinch!

Pesto Polenta Lasagna

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2008
I go with 5 stars as my meat eating husband loved it. I added smoke mozz. and a bit of provolone as I had it on hand and it added extra layers of flavor. Thanks for the post!

Honey Glazed Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2008
It was good, but I have had better. The honey was nice. This would be good with a picky crowd -- very non-offensive. Thanks for the post.

Asparagus with Parmesan Crust

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2008
So simple and so good. This is how I often make asparagus, but I never thought about adding parmesan. It makes a good thing even better. My husband and I ate a whole pound by ourselves!

Caper Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2008
I really am shocked that such a simple recipe is so awesome! For those who had dry chicken, you must have used too large of a pan. This is really fabulous -- even for the non-caper lovers. If you take the time to read the reviews you have to try this!!!! Thanks for the post!

Tangy Grilled Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2008
Very tasty! I buy pork tenderloin when it is on sale, mix up the marinade in a Ziploc bag, toss in the tenderloin and freeze. This way it is ready to go when it thaws and it's an easy, tasty meal that is ready for the grill.

Ten Minute Enchilada Sauce

Reviewed: May 6, 2008
I messed up and added a 16 oz. can of tomato sauce, so I doubled the all the spices except the chili powder and I used chicken broth instead of water. It was truly awesome! You really must try this recipe.

Richard and Suzanne's Louisiana Crawfish Pasta

Reviewed: May 6, 2008
My husband loved it. I thought it was okay. We added parm/romano cheese for texture and flavor. The sauce was too thin for my liking, but the flavor was good.

Spanish-Style Chicken and Sausage

Reviewed: May 7, 2008
It was okay. I ended up adding smoked paprika for flavor and my husband put some shredded Cheddar on top at the table and that helped a lot.

We make this with Peach Fresca and a slice of lime. The perfect refreshing summer beverage! Not the same old same old!

Lemon Cream Pasta with Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2008
Had a fresh lemon from a friend's tree, so I gave this a try. Much better than I expected. Nice change of pace. I did add about a cup of quality parmesan to the sauce. Husband claims to hate lemon chicken, yet there were no leftovers. Try it!

Pretzel Turtles

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2008
Eveyone who tried them said it tastes like something from the store! I put the pecan on top before baking and smashed it in when finished baking. It allowed me to make 60 at a time and not worry about the candy cooling too quickly. TFTP!

Marvelous Stuffed Mushrooms

Served these with soup as a first course. Loved by everyone - even the folks who weren't excited by mushrooms. I added a couple Tbs. of seasoned breadcrumbs to the mix for texture. Really nice.

Creme Brulee French Toast

Made for Christmas brunch -- even the kids loved it! I used 8 slices of Texas toast in a 9x13 pan. Did everything else as described and it was perfect. It's on the keeper list for us!
