Simple Beef Flavored Gravy

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2011
this makes the best roux for beef gravy for beef stew i didn't have jar gravy on hand for a recipe and so i used this to substitute betty crocker beef gravy i will never use jar gravy again this i will be using over and over for making delicious beef stew.....for the the best beef stew use the following stuff 1 pound beef boneless sirloin 1 tablespoon vegetable oil 1 teaspoon garlic pepper 1 bag (1 pound) frozen potatoes, carrots, celery and onions....Cut beef into thin strips (beef is easier to cut if partially frozen, about 1 1/2 hours). Heat oil and garlic pepper in 10-inch nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Cook beef in oil, stirring occasionally, until brown.Stir in vegetables and gravy; reduce heat to medium. Cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, until vegetables are tender.

Messy Taco Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2011
i had to doctor this up a lil after doing this it was awesome: i wouldn't do the thousand island unless you like it sweet and just plain yuck... i used another viewers comment and did ranch dressing mixed with taco seasoning for the dressing. also when browning your meat use a lil bit of salsa but the mild kind to it with a lil bit of cumin, chilli seasoning, garlic powder, and onion powder to taste then add a can of drained and rinsed kidney beans. add meat mixture onto of crushed tortilla chips, lettuce, cheese and tomatoes, then add mixture of ranch dressing with taco seasoning mixed in the dressing to it and yummier :) and boyfriend went for 2nd's after this lil bit of tweaking.

this is really good i but even better when you add a lil salsa to your ground meat while it's cooking and then the kidney beans heated thoroughly... i used the taco seasoning to season my meat lil bit of onion powder and garlic powder. then added some taco seasoning to the ranch dressing to give it a kick and yum.

i made this for dinner on 3/22/11 then made this over and over again at least a good 11 times this is now my familes go to steak recipe thanks to you making it again for the 12th time on 7/6/2011 : i finally found a way to make a tender steak thank you so much i also added mrs. dash garlic and herb seasoning to the steak rub and yummy will do again and again because the steak was not tough at all the secret is the olive oil!!! :).......oh by the way you can do this a number of ways i have i used minced garlic in a jar works just fine to cut on time and good ol montreal steak seasoning also works too but you must and i do say must use the olive oil! another tip: can also add a bit of onion powder too. either way i still get a yummy steak with the mrs. dash or the montreal seasoning as long as i am using olive oil to marinate it. WONDERFUL GRILL RECIPE FOR A STEAK TOO!!!

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2011
i made this for lunch 2/26/11 this was good i didn't have brown sugar so i used regular sugar and 3 tsp of white sugar. i used garlic salt instead of salt and added a bit of garlic powder and onion powder cause it needed a lil more seasoning. it does have a strong mustard flavor i found myself using a lil extra sugar to calm the tang since i like it a bit more sweet and less tangy.

Hawkeye Pork Roast

made this for dinner today on 2/10/11 and it is so so good and it falls apart and melts in your mouth i was looking for a good pork roast recipe and now i found one this one is a keeper thank you so much. I made this a meal in one and added baby new potatoes, carrots, onions and celery. even my fussy boyfriend liked it and gave this 4 stars. The only thing i did do differnt was add a little bit of water to it to help keep it most and cooked it at 350 for 90 minutes for a 1.23 lb roast

Chicken Voila

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2011
i made this today for dinner on 2/9/11 and well considering i have a horrible cold and was sick of making chicken noodle soup i gave this a try and it was really good i had to add a lil more garlic to it to my taste and added onion powder to it and no salt seasoning they sell in the dollar store for a buck...and i would recommend making a roux of flour water paste then adding to thicken just don't go over board with the flour water paste or it will taste more like flour so i just added a bit more broth with butter added to the broth while was heating up and go easy on the salt cause the broth has enough salt in it. a very good starter recipe i served it with instant mash potatoes and green beans.

Campbell's® Healthy Request® Chicken and Pasta Primavera

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2011
well i just got done making this for dinner tonight on 2/5/2011 and gave it 4 stars because it lacks flavor.so... this is ok BUT with modifications it is good but you need to up the garlic powder and it does need salt and definitely more Parmesan cheese so i say go by taste that's what i did or you will not like it because it is a little too bland without seasoning....oh and i used fettuccine noodles and not egg noodles to get the sauce to stick better to the noodles. And for my frozen vegetable blend i used the frozen California blend of carrots, broccoli, and cauliflower. I also still used cream of mushroom soup it called for but i used two cans and more milk to make it creamier.

I JUST MADE THIS FOR DINNER TODAY AND WOW...this is good but oh is it even better when you add onion powder garlic powder and chopped garlic to it. also i just used chicken stock where it called for the water amount of 3 1/4 cup water i just used chicken stock instead to save on time OH AND BE EASY ON THE PEPPER ADD IT TO TASTE ALSO LEAVE OUT THE SALT IT HAS ENOUGH FROM THE HAM AND CHICKEN STOCK AND LEAVE THE SKINS ON THE POTATOES I USED IDAHO POTATOES NOT THE RED SKIN KIND IF YOU PLAN ON USING MY SUGGESTION ... i made a big pot so it was not thick i just took a lil bit of water with flour to make a flour water paste and added it to the stock pot and added a bit extra butter and i will be making this again thank you so much. i will use the base as a starter make some baked potato cheese soup with brocolli

Easy Pasta Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2011
DO NOT USE WATER! & BOIL NOODLES BY ITSELF...It is good after tweaking it.....this needs some definite tweaking i made this today and here goes brown the chicken in a electric skillet with it sprayed with non stick cooking spray and cut to bite size pieces. while that is cooking take 2 sauce pans and cooked your veggies in one and rotini egg noodles in the other. For the veggies i used a California blend of broccoli, carrots and cauliflower. When the chicken is done add one can of cream of mushroom soup and one soup can of milk. then add chopped garlic, garlic salt, pepper, 1-2 tablespoon margarine, onion powder, and pepper. ( i didn't measure i went by tasting it as i was adding seasoning) then drain your veggies and add it to the skillet and let it simmer and stir frequently. After it becomes a creamy consistency add your rotini egg noodles, and a few sprinkles of parmesan cheese and your done :). next time i might try also adding some corn to it it is sorta similar to those viola dinners you see in the supermarket but once again needed more flavor it was a easy starter recipe.
