Amish Macaroni Salad

Penne and Vodka Sauce

Amazing! Not hard to prepare and delish! I doubled the sauce recipe and boiled two boxes of penne, but it didn't look like enough sauce so I wound up only adding about 1 and 1/4 box pasta to double the sauce. It was heaven.

Red Skinned Potato Salad

My boyfriend LOVED this. I only used 1/2 pound bacon, but next time will use the whole pound. I will keep the extra half pound reserved and sprinkle on each serving. I also used 1/2 lite mayo, half sour cream and only 3 eggs. Also used green onions. So I did change a lot as suggested by reviewers.

Slow Cooker Venison Sloppy Joes

Caution: 8 hours on low might be too long. I did this before bed and when I woke up the next morning it was burnt. Maybe because I used turkey bacon and there wasn't enough fat? I also used ground venison. So, I did deviate from the recipe but just know going in that the recipe may not be that 'forgiving'. I liked the flavor, but if I try again will cut the sugar in half.

Carrot Cake III

This is the one! I made this twice and each time it was the most delicious carrot cake. Making for Easter this year, can't wait!!! I used two 10 inch cake pans to make a layer cake which looks very impressive! I also followed advice from gbeanie: 1) using 1 cup brown sugar and 1 cup white sugar 2) adding an extra teaspoon of vanilla extract **3) I did not use pineapple**4) Added 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg 5) added 1 extra teaspoon of cinnamon 6) used 3/4 cup canola oil and 1/2 cup applesauce.

Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms

A whole package of cream cheese just seemed like a lot to me so I only used half, and then cut the Parmesan and spices in half as well. I sed one package of baby bella mushroom and the amount of filling was perfect. These were great, easy to make, and everyone gobbled them up.

Nice presentation and yummy hot or room temperature. I Cut the cream cheese in half, and used one package of phyllo tartlets which made 15 and used up all the filling that I used a sandwich bag to pipe.

Caramel Filled Chocolate Cookies

These were not hard to make and were yummy. I used the caramel hershey kisses. I'd say about 1 out of every 6 cookies burst while baking, but I just shoved the caramel back towards the cookie with my spatula and let them dry like that. I used for Christmas cookie tray platters, and they were a bit sticky and gooey for that but they taste great so who cares!

Snickerdoodles I

These are so good! I read through reviews and made sure to use the butter flavored crisco. I made two batches and they both came out so different. The taste was pretty much the same but one batch spread out and yielded a flatter cookie, while the other did not spread as much and was puffier. I tried to do the same thing, so not sure what I did different, lol. Either way, both were awesome. Lovely!
