Pumpkin Cookies I

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2007
Perfect cookie! To the reviewer that gave these a 4 our of 5 star because she wanted a crispier cookier and less cake like... if you have followed the recipe like it said you might have gotten what you wanted. Brown sugar will make a cookie softer. Please dont rate a recipe if you change it up and dont like what you did to it.... These cookies are perfect just follow the recipe.

Seven Layer Magic Cookie Bars

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2008
Very easy and Very good, my only change would be to follow other recipes that call for the condensed milk to be poured over everything LAST. The recipe as is doesnt leave much for the coconut to adhere to, thus there were a lot of crumbs left in the pan.

Pumpkin Pancakes

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2012
AWESOME!!! I start by making the recipe just as it calls to be made so that when I rate a recipe those who read the review know what the recipe might be like from my perspective if you make it LIKE THE RECIPE SAYS!!! I know this might be a novel idea but please give it a try!!!! I did have to add additional liquid as it was a bit too thick. When I see a recipe calling for milk and vinegar, these two mixed together give you an emergency substitute for buttermilk. Next time I will go ahead a use buttermilk!!! To the person who used the pancake mix - do not rate recipes like this if you are not going to follow the recipe as you did not make this recipe at all!

Teriyaki Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2007
I hate when people rate a recipe when they have changed the recipe even slightly. Try the recipe first to the letter, then rate it. If you try a recipe and change it, AND dont like it... DONT rate it... This was excellent. To thicken it I used cornstarch and water. Go slow though, you dont want it too thick!

Just Like Wendy's® Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2014
Excellent recipe! Going to make it again and again. Chili is very diverse and everyone has there taste preference when it comes to chili. If you do not like the flavor of Wendys chili do not make this recipe thinking it's going to be different. And please do not offer your comments and rating. I rated this recipe based on the fact that I love Wendys chili and how close does this chili come to that flavor. Very close and the flavor perfect.... Is it Wendys? NO, you only get Wendys chili at Wendys! Is it a good rendition.. Oh yes..... And it's even better on day 2!!!! If you choose to review a recipe make sure you made the recipe as posted. Do not review a recipe if you changed it all up and then don't like. A less than 4 or 5 star review of a changed up recipe is a review of ones own poor cooking skills. Be real!!!

Slow Cooker Ham and Beans

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2011
I never look at a recipe that is less then a 4 1/2 star but I looked at the ingredients and thought, YUM. So I looked at the reviews. The negative ones made me try it. First of all, I kinda doubt the person actually made this recipe who thought the b.sugar and cayenne pepper was a terrible idea. Secondly, if you think about this recipe truly it is an awesome base. I have made many of bean soups. My husband said this one was one of my better soups, and he loves my cooking. I used an onion instead of onion powder. This was all I did to the "base"recipe yet I know what I love in a bean recipe. I added celery. with about an hour to cook I added on can kernel corn and 1 can stewed tomatoes. Served with buttermilk biscuits. Remember the sugar does change the flavor and it for the better... it give it a rich deep flavor. Not too sweet at all. Then of course I added other veggies. Thank you for this great "base" recipe and if I wanted a thick bean and ham... I would leave it alone and add a lot less water.

Eddie's Special Burgers

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2007
Yum!!! I did what the recipe said to do - I hate it when people rate a recipe after doing "what they want to it first". Those negative reviews need to be cancelled. I want featured recipes that are easy and tasty. I have just recently found the multiple uses for italian dressing and that made this recipe great!!! The combination here was excellent.... I made sure not to use anything higher than 92% lean though for my burger tends to fall to pieces!!! Thanks for the submission and I hope others give this recipe a try just like it is!!! Then rate it!

Taco Roll-Ups

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2008
These were very tasty and easy- I made them right to the recipe. I made sure my cream cheese was at room tempurature. I mixed everything but the grated cheese together with my mixer, then folded in the cheese. I did use a little too much mixture on the first few tortilla's as I came out short on mixture. So next time I will measure a little better as to how much goes on each one. I will also try some chopped green onion. This recipe makes a lot - perfect for a party where you are doing all the appetizer's. My party everyone brought something, many brought two items.... way too much food, and yet these still got half eaten. I will make again. NOTE: if you have a very sharp serrated knife you dont have to refrigerate the rolls before cutting if you are careful... I didnt and they were perfect - I have excellent knives too though.

Easiest BBQ Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2011
WOW! Oh YEAH!!! I did the 1/2 Ketchup - 1/2 BBQ sauce, as per many recommendations. I did not fry the chops before putting them in the crock pot, I look for recipes that I don't have to do this! I added a garlic seasoning mix to the mixture for a little added spice.... this was VERY VERY good, surprisingly good!! and SUPER easy. I served it over Basmati rice. My husband loved it too!!! I will make it again and again and again!

Easy Meatloaf

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2011
WOW its all in the ketchup/mustard glaze....and don't change a thing.... I have told people to make their own meatloaf recipe but to try this glaze... their husbands told them it was the best meatloaf they ever made. To the meat I added a little oregano, basil and garlic, and chopped green peppers....that is how I make my meat loaf... however this glaze will go on ALL meatloaves! Great recipe!

Japanese Style Deep Fried Shrimp

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2011
Very good, very easy! I pan fried mine in about 1/4" nicely heated peanut oil, canola would have been more healthy. I added more paprika to the flour, just because the teaspoon got lost in the cup of flour. I added another teaspoon. They tasted great. I love the Panko Crust. Substituting coconut for Panko at that step would make them Coconut Shrimp.... YUMMY!!! and EASY too!!

Six Can Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2011
Terrific base recipe... don't hold back if you are familiar with great base recipes...This one is a perfect diving board for very tasty soups. I added a few other kinds of beans like a can of cannelli, and red kidney...and a small amount of chili powder. I also added about a tbs of sugar, this really brings out the flavor of the food!!!

Chicken Enchiladas V

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2011
Very tasty and ohhh sooo good!!! Recommend for sure! And these freeze well so make the whole pan full or two like I did. My husband and I had these several more times over the next couple months and it was easy to take them out of the freezer, thaw and bake or pan fry!!!!

Pumpkin Upside Down Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2008
This is an excellent pumpkin dessert. I use about 1 cup of chopped pecans on top of the the dry cake mix just before I pour the melted butter on it. I also use the smaller can of pumpkin, but keep everything else the same. I saw this in a Southern Living Cookbook where they used the smaller can so I tried it. I loved it... I am a topping/crust liking person more so than filling and this was perfect. Very easy dessert and you will get rave reviews, as well as everyone wanting your recipe.

Mom's Portuguese Beef Stew

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2011
Fabulous Recipe, especially for a base recipe! I added the sweet potatoes too soon and they had disintegrated by the time it was ready to serve, though flavor amazing. Next time I will add half of them early like this time and half at the end so to have chunks. I also added a can of kernal corn!!! And a few more spices to taste! WOW this was a killer stew! The white wine AMAZING!

Twice-Cooked Coconut Shrimp

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
Awesome! I use the frozen shredded coconut that is found in the freezer section. The sweetened coconut makes the shrimp too sweet. As I cooked the shrimp I put them in an oven that I kept warm at about 200 degrees until all of the shrimp were cooked. I then preheated the oven to 300 degrees and cooked the shrimp for about 5 to 8 min. Keeping the shrimp warm kept them crispy. I will make these again and again and again.

Dave's Low Country Boil

WOW!! I have never been interested in boils until I saw this recipe. I followed it exactly. I made it over a camp stove while camping with 5 other friends. It was a huge hit. I modified the recipe for 6 people. I would add more crab next time!!! You can add any sea food you would like. Amazing and fun to eat too!!!!

Turtles® Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2007
This is soo good and soo easy. I have used both pumpkin pudding and chocolate pudding. I think there are several flavors of pudding that would be good such as butterscotch, vanilla... mmm good!! I have made this many times. I prefer the shortbread crust with chocolate pudding, yet graham crust works good too.
