Peach Kuchen

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2013
"Spread dough with hands over the bottom and sides of the pan." That is impossible, since the dough turns so sticky it covers your hands like a glove. I had to add more flour to be able to handle and spread it. I am not sure how much more, since it all got kind of messy.

Ginger Bars

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2012
This could be very good, it has an interesting taste and great texture, however, there are some issues. 1. It is salty! I will only use 1/2 tsp. of salt next time. 2. It should bake for more than 30 minutes, more like 35-40 minutes. The batter looks like there is not enough liquid but when it bakes the consistency is excellent. 3.There is too much sugar. I reduced it by half a cup and it is as sweet as it should be.

Sweet Easter Quick Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2012
This tastes great! I halved the recipe and used a large round pan. The batter looks a bit runny, but it bakes excellent. Be careful though, 40 minutes in the oven are enough. I used dried figs instead of candied fruit, but I'm sure all raisins would be okay too. Try it!

Strawberry Lemon Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2011
Very good! Used all white sugar and added some vanilla. I didn't care that much about the strawberries though... It was a delicious lemon muffin! Be careful, they might be ready a little bit sooner than 25 minutes.

Carrot Cake VI

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2011
I wish I could give this 6 stars! You will not believe how good it is. And it has no eggs and just 2 tsp. of butter! Every bite is full of raisin-walnut-spice deliciousness! Be aware of the baking time though. At about 45 min the top will start getting burned. Also, in my opinion, 1 tsp. of cloves was too much, it overshadows the other flavors. Same goes for the nutmeg. I would go with 1/2 tsp. of cloves and 1/2 tsp. of nutmeg. I added 1 tsp. of ground ginger, it's a good combination with the carrots. And perhaps if you don't like a too sweet cake you could cut back on the sugar a bit because the raisins keep it sweet enough. I used 1 tsp. of baking soda and 1 tsp. of baking powder because I was afraid 2 tsp. of baking soda would affect the taste.... Those are my suggestions, but even exactly as it is written it is excellent. Thanks for sharing this recipe!

Orange Peel Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2010
These were very good! And easy to make, it takes just a few minutes to mix everything. The whole orange is an awesome idea, gives the cookies an interesting, more original taste. I halved everything except the orange, used olive oil instead of shortening and cinnamon + cloves because I ran out of vanilla. Next time I will try with vanilla as well. Thanks for the recipe!

Cranberry Yogurt Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2010
Considering there is no egg and no (added) fat in this recipe, I was amazed at how good these turned out! However, it needs more liquid (1 cup of milk instead of 2/3) otherwise the consistency is not right. Also, they were not sweet enough, so maybe some more sugar according to taste... I used about 1/4 of a cup extra cranberries, lemon peel (1 1/2 tsp.) and some juice instead of orange, a little bit of vanilla, brown sugar and 1 cup of whole wheat flour + 1/2 cup all-purpose. Definitely worth the try considering how much healthier they are than regular muffins. This recipe makes 12 normal size muffins, 146 kcal each, not 75 kcal like another reviewer mentioned.

Molasses Raisin Chews

These were very good, spicy and chewy. I used olive oil instead of shortening, added the raisins in the mixture and also added a dash of nutmeg and black pepper.

Peach Cobbler II

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2009
I added the lemon zest and a dash of salt in the dough. Both lemon and nutmeg were a great match for the peaches. This was good but I think it would be better with some modifications like less sugar (it was too sweet for my taste) and maybe more dough for this amount of peaches...
