My favorite things to cook
I'm best at baking. I love to make cakes for people and decorate them. I also like trying new things. It's so rewarding when people get excited when I bring something after tasting things I made in the past.

Banana pudding pie, 7 layer dip, peanut butter balls
My cooking triumphs
I haven't finally learned to make excellent eggnog and also chili. It took awhile to find the right recipes.
My cooking tragedies
I tried making avocado dip using avocados, mayonnaise and too much garlic salt. Not such a good idea.

Phoenician's Key Lime Pie
Nearly what I've been looking for. I visited the Florida Keys recently and tasted the best Key Lime pie I have ever had. I have been trying to make a similar pie ever since. This one is the closest I've come so far. I did double the key lime zest (on accident) so it had plenty of lime flavor but the whipping cream cut back some the tartness which is fine by me. I also topped it with whipped cream flavored with lime juice and sugar. Everyone loved it!

Dark Chocolate Cake I
Yum, I put half brown sugar and half white sugar and a half a cup of sour cream and it tasted like brownies! I will use this as one flavor for my wedding cake since it stays together well. I was wondering what would happen if I used brownies as wedding cake anyway so this is great!

Eggnog I
This is the best eggnog I have ever tasted and everyone who tastes it agrees. The only thing I do differently is add some rum flavoring extract 1-2 tsp or more to taste. Also before adding the whipped cream I strain out the egg particles with a sieve since I never seem to mix it well enough. I can't wait until next year.
