Papa Drexler's Bavarian Pretzels

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2010
Yum! I made these as rolls. I divided one batch into about 8 rolls before boiling them. I used regaular table salt. Can't see it, but the taste is till there. This was my first pretzel baking experience. It will not be my last. Thank you.

French Breakfast Puffs

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2008
This recipe has been a family favorite since I was in grade school (30+ years ago). It was in mom's Betty Crocker cookbook. Thank you for sharing it. It's now a Christmas morning tradition.

Indian Naan II

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2007
This did not turn out the way it's supposed to, or so I believe. It may be because I have little or no experience with homemade breads. I don't understand the cooking method---bake under a hot grill?? I tried to cook it on a skillet, which did not work.

Chicken Satay

Reviewed: May 13, 2012
Mistake number 1: All Mine. I began to put this recipe together after seeing it had 4.5 out of 5 stars and before I read any of the reviews. Mistake number 2: Followed the recipe My husband stood behind me as I measured the lemon juice and soy sauce. He was saying...that's a LOT of sour and salty juice. Things started to go better after I added more peanut butter, more brown sugar....and then they really turned around when we agreed we were NOT going to add the chicken. Thanks to the November 2011 reviewer, we spared our chicken, too. My husband is going to make the standby chicken and black bean casserole.

Szechuan Spicy Eggplant

Reviewed: May 18, 2010
We made this with bison, not beef and shrimp. We liked this recipe, but have vowed to make it better for our taste. Next time we make it, we will reduce the soy sauce, double the garlic and ginger, and eliminate the corn starch. We didn't have much sauce to go over the rice, and imagine our liquids were less because we used bison (less fat than beef). But, hey...it got Brian to eat the eggplant. Cheers!

Molten Chocolate Cakes With Sugar-Coated Raspberries

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2009
I served the molten cupcakes, so to speak, with orange sherbert. Very refreshing. Still have some experimenting to do with the baking, though. After 14 minutes, they finally began to puff up, but the centers were not fluid. Perhaps the two minutes between removing them from the oven and getting them to the table were two minutes too many for them to flow.

Stuffed Green Peppers I

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2007
The flavor was right on for me...my daughter did not care for it so much, though. I never knew stuffed green peppers required so much work.
