About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
Pick a country, find a recipe and just begin cooking!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Newly remarried, my husband and I LOVE to take the morning to plan a menu, shop for the ingredients, then spend the day in the kitchen creating masterpieces. A good bottle of wine, jazz music turned up loud and dueling spoons and we are set. This is becoming a ritual as much as a tradition! Now my 13 year old daughter has joined into the fun (minus the wine, LOL!)

Toasted Pumpkin Seeds
This is a fantastic variation of the typical roasted/kosher salted seeds. Be sure to soak the seeds (I soak overnight) so they absorb some of the liquid and become plump and less splintered. You can also add Soy for an added kick! Great recipe.

Stuffed Jalapenos III
This is a favorite appetizer in my household. I use block cream cheese and smear that on the inside of the pepper, top with cheddar and wrap with a full strip of bacon. I bake mine on an elevated rack over a cookie sheet so the grease drips off. Perfect every time!

Proper English Cottage Pie
Amazing recipe---the cinnamon gives this dish an "authentic" taste. After the ground beef and onion was almost cooked through, I added the cinnamon and herbs to the meat and sauted until cooked. This allowed the spices to blend with the meat a little more. Then I added the flour and proceeded as written. Great recipe, will make it again and again.
