Basic White Bread

Yummy, but very dense. Mine fell in the middle as another reviewer said. Maybe more yeast? I think I'll try out a different recipe before giving this one another go.

Macaron (French Macaroon)

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2013
Followed directions exactly, even using volume measurement because I don't have a scale, and they turned out great. Only one change- I baked them for about 8 minutes longer because the first pan was still wet in the center. Will make again!

Vegan Split Pea Soup I

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2011
Pretty good. I made it as directed, but added more water when it all got absorbed. Next time I might add some more spices, more garlic, and maybe some white wine, but overall a very yummy and nutritious soup

Chocolate Sauce

Reviewed: May 7, 2011
This tasted like store bought chocolate syrup. It was okay, but if I'm going to spend the time making chocolate sauce I want it to be better than than the store bought stuff. Probably wouldn't do again.

Followed directions exactly, but I left out the ham since we didn't have any on hand. Delicious!!! My husband and I both loved this dish.

Chocolate Chip Shortbread Cookies II

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2010
Love! I've made it twice now, both times with just chocolate chips, no nuts, and swapping almond extract for the coconut. The second time I made 1/4 of the recipe and instead of making cookies I just pressed the dough into an extra small sheet pan and after cooking it for 10 min I cut it into squares - WAY easier than making the cookies I think. This is my favorite shortbread recipe that I've tried.

Cumin Lamb Steaks with Smashed Potatoes, Wilted Spinach and Red Wine Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2010
I give this a three as is, but a four or five now that I've made some changes. The wine reduction is great, just needs some salt. I prefer mashed potatoes made without sour cream, just butter and milk. I use salt, ground rosemary, garlic powder, pepper, and dried thyme as a rub for lamb and think it tastes a lot better than the cumin.

Lasagna Alfredo Roll Ups

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2009
I liked these very much and they were way easier to make than a layered lasagna. I used a homemade alfredo sauce from this site - I would reccomend doing that over using the gross jarred stuff. The only thing I didn't like about this recipe was that I found it didn't reheat well the next day and I ended up throwing away the leftovers.

Very good. I would prefer if they didn't spread out so much, but they are very tasty and good for Tiramisu

yummy yummy yummy. I only roasted it for 12 minutes and that was done enough for me. Really good with the addition of parmesan cheese just before serving.

These are okay, but my mom used to make some amazing ones using watermelon jello mix in the dough. It added a lot more flavour.

Okanagan Peach Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2009
I'm giving this a mediocre review as is. It's far to sweet to be savoury for me. The next day I roasted one large cubed yam and added that in with some cinnamon and cayenne pepper. I alos added more cocnut milk and chicken stock to thin it out a little. With those variations I would give it 5 stars. I served it with sour cream and sliced green onion.
