I come from a very small ND town. For as long as I can remember I have been in the kitchen, following in my mothers and grandmothers footsteps. Both of them were well known in our area for their cooking and baking. I am not so much known for my cooking as my baking. Desserts!!! I also love to test new appetizer recipes. My newest addiction is baking and decorating cakes and cookies. I can remember making pulled taffy with mom as young as 5 years old. It's been years since I've made it but hopefully I will pick it up soon as my children will soon be able to help. At Christmas time Lefsa, Krumkake and Rosettes are a must. My Christmas goodies. Everyone goes crazy over these. Depending on the year (I have two young children) I make anywhere from 25 to 40 items. I believe 42 was my most. Oh man, I cannot make anything that involves yeast. It's always a disaster.
