Best Brownies

Wonderfully easy to make. Wonderfully dense and chocolaty. Didn't use the full one cup of confectioner's sugar to keep the frosting a bit more chocolaty. Will def be adding this to the recipe box. Great recipe!

Amish White Bread

Yummy!!!! The only adjustment was that I used 5 1/2 cups of flour instead of 6 cups. Turned out great!

Ninety Minute Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2009
These turned out very well. I'm not sure if there's a difference between 'instant' yeast and 'quick acting' yeast, but I used the quick acting kind and it took more than 30 minutes for the rolls to rise. More like 4 hours. But they were worth the wait. Will make again.

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2009
Unfortunately I can't give the recipe five stars, but I think if the recipe is followed and not altered, it might be a five star. I changed a few ingredients from other recommendations (using part applesauce instead of all oil & using part brown sugar instead of all white). It turned a bit too dry for my taste. I think next time I will followi the recipe as written and hopefully will be able to change my rating to give it a five. All in all, it was still a good cake, even with the alterations.

Buckeye Balls II

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2009
These are delicious. Didn't use all four cups of sugar - about three cups is good to maintain a more peanut rather than too sweet taste. Also had to refridgerate longer to get the chocolate to harden well. Overnight is good. Will def. make again next Xmas.

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2008
I gave these cookies a second try and they turned out wonderful. I cut the cinnamon to about 1/4 teas and only used 1/2 teaspoon of salt. They turned out yummy. Easy to make. I'll def be making them again.

Creamy Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2008
Delicious. I didn't have sharp cheddar, so I used American processed instead. Otherwise followed recipe and turned out fantastic. The stirring time to thicken the milk/butter/flour/broth combo is more than 3 or 4 minutes, but not much more...maybe 10 tops. I added original breakfast sausage to make it a complete meal. Makes a lot, so I would maybe cut in half if only cooking for two or three people.

Pig Pickin' Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2008
If using dark coated non-stick cake pans, reduce cooking time by a few minutes. If cooked the full recommended cooking time, the cake will turn out dry. Put a generous amount of frosting/filling in between layers.

Easy to make. Not a earth moving cookie, but quick and satisfying if you have a chocolate craving.

My son loved it. I used lowfat cream cheese and lowfat whipped topping to reduce the fat grams. I'll be making it again...soon!

Old-Fashioned Potato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2007
The soup was average. It was't clear if you were supposed to drain the potatoes before putting into the milk mixture or if you need to added the water/broth to the mixture along with the potatoes. The soup was good enough for an Sunday afternoon meal, but the leftovers sat in the fridge until they needed to be thrown out.
