Ma Ma's Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2010
When we are craving something sweet, I pull this recipe out. Each time my family says "but we don't want plain old sugar cookies" and each time they end with "I can't believe they are gone already, they were so good!"

Chicken Chimichangas with Sour Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2012
My family raved over this recipe. I don't like sour cream, but even to me the sauce was good. My husband has his own 'Mexican chicken mixture' recipe he uses, so we just substituted that for the filling. Came out great!

Corn and Zucchini Melody

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2011
Had fresh zucchini from the garden and needed a new recipe. The family adored this! I used frozen corn and added in Nature's Seasoning. No leftovers from our family of six. Even the 2 y.o. ate it up.

Authentic Enchiladas Verdes

Reviewed: May 2, 2011
I was very anxious about trying this recipe, fearing it a bit beyond my culinary skills. However, the enchiladas came out fantastic! My husband gobbled them up before I could blink! Take a chance and try this recipe, you won't be disappointed.

Easy Devonshire Cream

Reviewed: May 2, 2011
Fantastic! I made it just as directed (watch out for the right amount of cream cheese) and it was delightful. I almost put the whole 8 oz bar of cream cheese in at first, but a quick glance at the amount on the recipe saved me. People... follow directions and you won't have any problems! Try it as directed first, then add your own flair next time.

English Royalty Chocolate Chip Scones

Reviewed: May 2, 2011
Amazing! I followed the directions exactly and had no problems, although bakers should note that after adding the OJ, you have to use your hands to mix and form the dough. To keep your scones light and flaky, mix quickly and not too much - the heat of your hands melts the butter and makes the dough heavy. The husband and kids ate these up in just two days and have begged for more. I'm not usually a baker, so I was highly impressed this recipe made be look so accomplished!

Mexican Chicken Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2011
We've had this multiple times now and are still in love with it. Unlike many other soups, this one has tons of flavor. We've made it exactly as the recipes states, as well as mixing it up. Either way, well worth it!

Grilled Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2011
My husband usually spends all day making chicken soup, I had this ready in a little over an hour and it was amazing! I made it according to the recipe, minus the mushrooms, but could see the future possibilites as well. This will be a new staple in our house.

Best Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2011
Wonderful frosting, but follow the directions closely. The granulated sugar is not a mistage, the more you whip the better the result. Take your time with this recipe and you'll be greatly rewarded. We also served this on top of brownies - AMAZING!

Bacon Risotto

We LOVE this recipe and it is so easy to make. I had always feared making risotto because of other people's comments, but this was a cinch. I encourage everyone to try this.

Easy and the family liked it. Just my kind of recipe. We made it exactly as written, but will probably jazz it up a little more next time. Thanks!

Boudreaux's Zydeco Stomp Gumbo

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2009
Amazing gumbo! Tastes and looks just like what I ate in New Orleans recently. Used 6 cups broth, no beer and substituted 1 can diced tomatoes for the fresh romas. Also added shrimp in only in the last 5 minutes of cooking to keep them from being overdone. Definitely making again soon!

Crispy Flautas

Made these for my family last night and they LOVED them. We didn't make any changes to the recipe except to use flour tortillas. Surprisingly quick to make, a good weekday dinner.

Honey Walnut Shrimp

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2010
This dish was super easy and incredible. The only thing that was weird was the rice flour and egg white mixture - it did become a paste and then how can you dip? I added some water and blended it in and it was perfect. We have shrimp allergies in our family, so we made this with chicken which was fantastic. We'll be making this again soon!
