Peanut Butter Pie IV

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2004
Very yummy. I made this at the last minute for a picnic and stuck it in the freezer for a 1/2 hour. It turned out perfect. I made a graham crust, but added crushed pretzels, which adds a 'nutty' flavor. I also sprinkled peanuts on the top. Everyone loved this pie! Thanks, Karen.

Judy's Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2004
This is a fantastic dessert! I have made it several times, and always get asked for the recipe. Especially the crust, they can't believe that it's made of pretzels. This will be my potluck dish from now on! Thanks Tom!

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2004
These chops are fantastic! I'm not a big fan of pork chops, because I've never had a recipe that didn't turn them into bricks. That is not the case here. These were very moist and delicious. The flavor was excellent. I didn't have any wine, so I used water instead. Served with buttered egg noodles. This will be the ONLY way I make chops. The only negative thing is the prep/cook time. We ate dinner a little late, but a little more organization on my part will solve that.

Chocolate Rum Balls I

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2003
These are absolutely fantastic! My husband requested rum balls "like my mom's", and he actually said that these were better! I used pecans instead of walnuts and spiced rum. I originally made these for gifts, but now I have to make another batch because we have eaten most of them. Thanks so much to Donna for a great recipe.

Rich Chocolate Chip Toffee Bars

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2003
All I can say is... Holy sweet tooth! I think these are possibly the best cookie bars I have ever made. Congrats to the bakers at Hershey's Kitchens! This recipe is so simple and delicious. I took this to a pot luck and they were gobbled up. Make sure to cut them extra small, because they are so rich. I used Hershey's Almond Toffee chips and milk chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet. I also used chopped walnuts and pecans, so the recipe ended up having 3 kinds of nuts. Very yummy!!

Hubby's Pizza Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2003
Very good bread. I did substitute mozzarella for the cheddar. The pepperoni seemed to disapear once baked, but the flavor was still there. Next time I will try ham or sausage.

Tasty Tuna Burgers

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2003
I'm always trying to find new recipes during lent, and I know I found a keeper this time. Yum! I made these twice. The first time they came out very soggy, but with good flavor. The second time I increased to bread crumbs to 3/4c and that seemed to help. Also deleted the bell peppers and increased the hot pepper.

Applesauce Bars

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2003
Very moist and yummy. I made these for a family get together and the adults liked them better than the kids. I added a 1/2t nutmeg and 1t cinnamon. I drizzled some store bought cream cheese frosting over them, instead of frosting the entire pan.

Coconut Macaroons II

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2003
These were very good, and I will make them again. Perfect for holiday tins. I rolled them into balls instead of spooning them onto the pan. Also drizzled some melted chocolate chips on a few of them.

Marshmallow Popcorn Balls

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2003
Great recipe. I've used many different popcorn ball recipes, and this one ranks pretty high. They were a little hard to roll and keep their shape, but once I got the hang of it, it went pretty smooth. The kids loved them. I would suggest using a very good popcorn. I used a store brand that yielded alot of kernels that I had to sift out, for fear of breaking a tooth.

Easy and Delicious Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2003
Very good! I love the simplicity of this recipe. We eat alot of chicken, and I'm always looking for a new way to prepare it. Very similar to beef stroganoff. I added all the ingredients except the cream cheese, which I put in about 1/2 hour before serving.

Cinnamon Bread I

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2003
This is a great recipe, but I made a few changes based on some of the other reviews. I added a bit of nutmeg and increased the cinnamon. I also doubled the topping mixture and used half of it in between layers on batter. I used a bundt pan, so it turned out more like a coffee cake than bread, but it was delicious! I plan to use this one again soon! Great recipe, Carol!

BLT Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2002
I have made BLT dip with a mix before, but this far exceeds any of them! I used bacon bits instead of real bacon, and it tasted fine. This is a definite make-again dip.

Caramels

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2002
I'm a first time candy maker, and I found this recipe very easy. It took quite a while to get to the right temp, and lots of stirring. Well worth the time, though. I had to keep refrigerating these as I wrapped them. Quite messy as they softened a bit. I could have maybe cooked them longer. These caramels taste better than store bought, but I think that I will keep them for holiday gifts only.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2001
My family loved these muffins! They are by far the best I have ever had. No more mixes! I did modify the recipe just a bit. I doubled the blueberries and used brown sugar for the topping, instead of white. I only filled them half full, so it made a dozen regular and eight mini muffins. I will use this recipe again and again!
