World's Best Scones! From Scotland to the Savoy to the U.S.

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2011
I was searching for a scones recipe after having them at Disney World's breakfast buffet-Boma! These turned out just as good as theirs! I made them the first time exactly as the recipe says and that is where my 5 star rating comes from. The second time I used white whole wheat and instead of currents I did 1/2 cup fresh blueberries. I also added 1 tsp vanilla to the milk/sour cream mix. It never formed into a ball (assuming because of the wheat) so I added 3 tablspoons of orange juice and that did the trick. They were delicious! If you want to whip something togeher last minute these will not let you down. I served with whipped cream cheese when my friends came over last minute for tea =)

Easy Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2010
I only gave this four stars because I did tweak it to my liking. I cooked the meat individually (along with a clove of minced garlic & pepper) drained and plopped it into my crock pot with the beef broth. Then I sauteed the onions and muchrooms together with pepper and paprika and tossed them into the crock on low. Then about 30 minutes before sertving Inmput the sour cream (mixed with the flour) in and let it thicken up a bit and served over egg noodles. I left out the butter......yummo and healthier!

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2010
This is some yummy dough! The best I have ever made! I have made a lot too! I made "as is" and added some basil to the dough. This dough is definitely too much for one pizza so I made it in my large and medium pans. The large was a thinner dough and the medium was a deep dish style that went very fast! Next time I plan on making 2 mediums. I printed this recipe out and I am looking no further!

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2009
I was caring for a very unhappy infant while making this recipe. So in between holding him and putting this together I accidentally left out the butter. I also didnt have enough bananas (had 3) so after mashing I added sour cream to make up the difference. This turned out very moist and delicious! I submitted a picture among the many and will make it again the same way :)

These are very light and fluffy when you eat them! I followed the recipe except I didnt add raisins. They are scrumptious! I added a powdered sugar glaze once they cooled down a bit.

Apple Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2009
I made this today and had some after it cooled down! It is super good! Of course after reading everyone elses reviews I did my own alterations. Instead of white sugar I did all brown sugar.I also did 1 1/2 tsp cin and 1/4 tsp nutmeg. Instead of oil I did 1/4 cup applesauce and 1/2 cup ff sour cream and doubled the vanilla. Then as I mixed the wet into the dry ingrediants I added about 3-4 tbs of orange juice. I ended up baking it in my bunt pan. It was a heavy dough but I cooked it for an hour and 15 minutes. When it approached the hour mark I checked it with a wooden skewer every five minutes till it was done. Cooled on a wire rack and drizzled with a little confectioners sugar mixed with milk and yum! The sour cream makes it nice and moist.

Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2007
This is the best pumpkin bread I have ever made! Trust me I have made many. I cut this recipe in half because I only have 1 pan at the moment and it turned out perfect. I did use the same amount of cin but I used pumpkin pie seasoning instead of the nutmeg and clover. It turns out very moist. I read some reviews and some said it was more of a cake like bread. Mine turned out just like any other sweet bread I have made. Kids will gobble it up....I fed it to my pre-school Sunday school class and they loved it!

Best Bread Machine Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2007
I am sitting here eating a warm slice right now and I love it! I gave some to my daughter with her snack with jam and she said it was the best I have made. I made 2 loaves today. The only difference I did between them was I used kosher salt and that one raised to the top of my machine. The other raised a normal height, which I like better, so I might stick to the regular recipe amount with the kosher next time. I have made many different white loaves in my Bread Machine and this one has turned out the best. Very light and fluffy like opening a bag of wonder bread without that nasty preservative smell. It tastes like a normal bread that you would use to make toast, sandwhiches or just spread some butter on and enjoy. If you want more flavor hten just add something like garlic powder to the flour. I read other comments before hand and I tweaked it like suggested: 1 1/2 tsp salt,3 tbs Vital wheat glueten (you take 3 tbs away from the flour and add the gluten to it) and I used olive oil instead of the veggie oil. I plan on making another loaf for tomorrows spaghetti dinner, adding some basil and garlic to the oil.... Also a tip: always use room temp ingrediants (except the water).
